Bha Cathy Ann na tè-fhrithealaidh.
‘Cathy Ann was a (in her) waitress.’
Bha Dòmhnall na chòcaire.
‘Donald was a (in his) chef.’

2. GAM / GAD fhaicinn: ‘Seeing me / you’

B’ fheàrr leam gun iarradh cuideigin orm sreath ùr a dhèanamh còmhla riutha a-màireach, oir b’ fheudar dhomh clach a chall airson am pàirt sin a chluich.
I wish somebody would ask me to do a new series with them tomorrow, because I had to lose a stone in order to play that role.”

‘I preferred’, ‘I would prefer’

‘What would you prefer, whisky or wine?’

‘I’d prefer just water just now, thanks.’

B’ fheàrr leam gun...
‘I wish that...’
B’ fheàrr leam gun robh thu an seo.
‘I wish you were here.’
B’ fheàrr leam gun sguireadh am fuaim.
‘I wish the noise would stop.’
B’ fheàrr leam nach robh thu falbh.
‘I wish you weren’t leaving.’

4. Sùil air ais: -AS

‘What will I sing?’
Dè ghabhas tu?
‘What will you have?’

‘Who speaks now, Who’ll speak now?’
