1. Dol A DHÈANAMH | ‘going TO DO’

Marion:
“Bidh mise an còmhnaidh a’ bruidhinn ris a’ mhachine a tha siud: Dè a-nis a rinn mi ceàrr?! ’S bidh an supervisor: Chan eil duine a’ dol a bhruidhinn riut!””

DOL A (‘going to’) + sèimheachadh (lenition): bh ch dh fh gh etc.

Le fuaimreag (vowel): DOL A DH’

DOL, ach cuideachd CHAIDH, THÈID, DH’FHALBH etc. – gnìomhairean-gluasaid (any motion verb).

Bha i a’ dol a cheannach aodach.
‘She was going to buy some clothes.’
Chaidh Marion a cheannach aodach.
‘Marion went to buy some clothes.’
Thèid mi a dh’iarraidh aodach.
‘I’ll go (to) get some clothes.’
Dh’fhalbh iad a thogail na cloinne.
‘They went off to pick up the children.’

2. MURA bheil e... | IF it is NOT... (unless...)

Marion:
