Anna: “Dè bhiodh tu a’ dèanamh son leabhraichean fhaighinn?”
“What would you do (‘what would you be doing’) to get books?”

“Dè bhiodh tu a’ toirt leat?”
What would you take (‘what would you be taking’) with you?”

Joy:
Leigeadh iad leam na ficheadan a ghabhail aig an aon àm nuair a bha mi ag iarraidh sin.”
“They would let me take scores [of books] at the same time when I wanted to.”

Bhitheadh ( / Bhiodh) - ‘would be, could be’
Dhèanadh - ‘would do, could do’
Leigeadh - ‘would let, could let’

Thoir an aire (1): thu → tu
Dè dhèanadh tu? ‘What would you do?’
Cha chanadh tu mòran. ‘You wouldn’t say much.’
An leigeadh tu leotha snàmh? ‘Would you let them swim, allow them to swim?’

Dhèanainn tòrr obair sa mhadainn agus bhithinn saor feasgar. ‘I’d do plenty work in the morning and I’d be free in the afternoon.’

Leiginn - ‘I would let’
Leiginn leis a’ chloinn cluich sa phàirc. ‘I’d let the children play in the park.’

Leughainn - ‘I would read.’ Gheibhinn - ‘I would get/find.’
Leughainn rud sam bith a gheibhinn. ‘I’d read anything I could find.’
