"There is no substitute for one-to-one advice from aÌýtop medical expert and that's what we offer our callers and emailers. But for each person who calls to ask for help, someone else phones in to pass on a tip or a suggestion -Ìýit's a great programme to present."

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
The idea behind Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is that if you can help people to change their thoughts, this will help them to change the way they feel.
It is used to treat a whole range of problems from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, phobias and panic attacks, to stress at work.
Psychotherapy has traditionally been difficult to receive on the NHS, but the government is now hoping to increase access to CBT.
CBT is recommended by NICE for treatment of a range of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, panic, post traumatic stress disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder.
How does it work in combination with drugs?
If you have any questions about CBT or you think CBT might benefit a condition then pleaseÌýcontact Barbara Myers.Ìý HerÌýguest in the studio is Paul Salkovskis,ÌýProfessor of Clinical Psychology and Applied Science at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London andÌýClinical Director of the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma at the Maudsley Hospital.
