"There is no substitute for one-to-one advice from aÌýtop medical expert and that's what we offer our callers and emailers. But for each person who calls to ask for help, someone else phones in to pass on a tip or a suggestion -Ìýit's a great programme to present."

Exercise for the very UnfitÌý
Seven out of 10 men, and 8 out of 10 women do not do enough exercise, according to a survey carried out by Allied Dunbar. But more than a quarter of women do more exercise in their 50s than they did in their 30s.ÌýAnd, nearly a third of men and women over 50 say they never take any exercise at all.
Children
Many children between the ages of 14 and 16 are not getting enough PE time in schools.Ìý The recommended minimum isÌýtwo hoursÌýper week.Ìý
Over 50s Many people in their fifties have brought up their families and have reached a stage in their lives where they might have more time on their hands. However, middle age can bring with it another set of problems and illnesses such as heart disease, arthritis, strokes and diabetes to name a few. So should you see a doctor before you join the gym? And are heart rate monitors worth the money?Ìý
What constitutes being unfit?
What constitutes being unfit? How active do we really need to be in order to be considered healthy? How much do diet and lifestyle have a part to play? Can stress or depression be alleviated through keeping fit - and can exercise prevent illness such as cancer?Ìý
Enjoyable exercise
Donning the lycra might be off-putting for some but there are plenty of other forms of enjoyable exercise like walking, swimming or dancing. And if you've got the spare cash, perhaps a personal trainer would help you.
Contact the Programme So if you have a question on how to get fit and indeed, how to get the motivation to even start doing exercise then call 0870 010 0444 from 1.30pm - 3.30pm on the day of broadcast or email checkup@bbc.co.uk
