Congratulations on your 100 responses. (Nurse, the screens…). Are you making petroleum jelly and in the Esso barrels? Some home-made vaseline will be great for preventing chapped lips, but I’m not sure where the hundreds and thousands fit in. Have you invented a dual purpose lip gloss that you can snack on when you get a bit peckish? The film boddach has been telling me about the party bags at the Oscars. What will be in ours? Chrissie Mary hopes there'll be bubbles. Please don't let the Harris folks make any suggestions.

I had no idea life on Harris was so diverse or the economy so dependant on double glazing sales! The Arran Fank Contingent are girding their muscles and trying to find a spare crane to put the longship in the water as it's been in dry dock all winter. So when exactly are you expecting us Calumannabel so we know when to set off? Is Granny Ellie still wanting a lift and are there any other pick ups on the way?
Sunny from Arran
Well done Calumannabel! Let's hope you get that lucky at the Fank!

why don't you make the large quantity of jelly (vaseline, or other wise, be careful of trade names and copyright) available as a souvenir item.Packaged up in a nice customised package with a Fank label - Sunny kindly sort of offered the shop facilities - you would probably get an Enterprise grant. not to mention EC funding and Development money from the council, diversification grants, rural sustainablity, etc. And of course Lottery funding. And it is probably part of an Eco package too. Not to mention employment in remote areas, you'd get help to market the idea....advertise...trips to see how others in a similar sitation have managed the same thing (India, New Zealand, Canada, are suitable because they are very far away) gosh this could really take off....

Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Fankoline. Experience the deep balminess of petroleum jelly for lips enriched with exfoliating sugar strands. Now here's the science bit. E numbers combine with saccharine molecules to form this luscious new beauty product with added miasma. Is this the sort of PR approach you're looking for?
