Isle of Baleshare

Baleshare lies to the south-west of North Uist, and found its economics and community boosted by the building of its causeway in 1963. The islands geography is marked by its extreme flatness. There are even claims that it used to have an eastern township, or that the island was once linked to the islands of Kirkibost to the north or the Monach island to the west.
