Nigheadaireachd. Laundry. Nigheadaireachd.
Soitheachan. Dishes. Soitheachan.
Agus gnìomhairean feumail. Here are a few useful verbs:
A’ dèanamh. Doing. A’ dèanamh.
A’ nighe. Washing. A’ nighe.
A’ glanadh. Cleaning. A’ glanadh.
A’ sguabadh. Sweeping. A’ sguabadh.
Ag iarnaigeadh. Ironing. Ag iarnaigeadh.
Now let’s have a look at how you might put some of these verbs and nouns together:
A’ dèanamh na nigheadaireachd. Doing the laundry. A’ dèanamh na nigheadaireachd.
A’ nighe nan soitheachan. Washing the dishes. A’ nighe nan soitheachan.
A’ glanadh nan uinneagan. Cleaning the windows. A’ glanadh nan uinneagan.
A’ sguabadh an làir. Sweeping the floor. A’ sguabadh an làir.

Guth 1 (Calum): Halò Eilidh, an robh thu trang an-diugh?
Guth 2 (Eilidh): Is mi a bha! Bha mi a’ glanadh nan uinneagan agus a’ sguabadh an làir. Dè bha thu fhèin ris?
Guth 1 (Calum): Bha mi a’ dèanamh na nigheadaireachd agus ag iarnaigeadh.
Calum asked Eilidh if she had been busy today. “An robh thu trang an-diugh?” Were you busy today? Trang. Busy. Trang.
Eilidh answered, “Is mi a bha!” I certainly was! Is mi a bha!
But what was Eilidh doing? “Bha mi a’ glanadh nan uinneagan agus a’ sguabadh an làir.” I was cleaning the windows and sweeping the floor. Bha mi a’ glanadh nan uinneagan agus a’ sguabadh an làir.
Eilidh then went on to ask Calum what he had been up to. “Dè bha thu fhèin ris?” What were you up to? Dè bha thu fhèin ris? And Calum replied, “Bha mi a’ dèanamh na nigheadaireachd agus ag iarnaigeadh.” I was doing the laundry and ironing. Bha mi a’ dèanamh na nigheadaireachd agus ag iarnaigeadh.
