In Love....Rough Luck
Posted: Monday, 07 May 2007 |
A good weekend - I'm in love again - this time its after listening to Ray Bonneville - check out his website. I heard him at the folk festival wow - WOW what a man, he signed my CD for me, swoon swoon.
The Folk Festival - I really enjoyed it but I'm sorry I forgot to take my camera, I was preoccupied and far too busy to think about takin photos...
I think I startled FPU [see flying cat's blog] by rushing up to her and shouting EARRING! sorry! I was beginning to feel like a sleuth detective cos I was studying all the women's earrings - so glad when I eventually saw it, so I could stop behaving strangely. I'm not much of a detective as I had thought all year - up until about the time the earring was blogged - that she was a he... sorry! I hope you guys enjoyed the weekend, there wasn't much opportunity to chat!
I've depatched a close friend who was one of the excellent drummers 'Aest-ta-wast' to take photos tonight of the closing party. If you have helped in any way during the concerts you are invited to attend the last do on the Monday night. The visiting artistes perform for all the locals.
Next year I'm going to be a drummer - if I'd practised more this year I coulda been in the group.(and then wid have been a the party tonight, instead of on the computer...)
What bands did I like - I didna see them all this year, as I was unable to get to the Foy on the Sunday night where you see all the artistes, but I was stunned by the Orcadian riot that was Lazy Boy Chair. Absolutely fantastic.
Another was A Crooked Still - sounded very like Alison Kraus, if you can't remember which ones they were, it included the cellist with the very strange hat. and of course Ray (first name terms you notice)( he waved at me and my friend while we were having lunch today (very stodgy lasagne and chips) at the festival club, we shoulda gone over to chat, but missed our chance.) very very nice man. brilliant CD called Rough Luck.
neck and back none the worse of the weekend - maybe that was all I was needing - a good weekend out?
Chiropracter working on it, he manipulated me, and lightened my cheque book considerably, how thoughtful of him! neck still very stiff but not so sore.
