A mere $4 per gallon here in the foggy SF Bay area.
Tired Father from It's a gas gas gas
whats that in pounds?
scallowawife from in disbelief...
£1.40 per litre down our way. This is getting really serious - won't be able to afford to go to work soon!
Stromness Dragon from Thinking of going back to the horse and cart
$4 usd is 2.03 pounds. I take comfort in knowing that bottled water is even more expensive. Hence, I drink Talisker while walking.
Tired Father from ZoomZoomZoom
As fishermen, lorry drivers etc are blocking al the entrances to raffinery's over here,i decided to go and fill my tank up this afternoon,as our choir are singing in one town 50kms away on friday,in another town on saturday night and sunday i go montpellier to celebrate mothers day plus my grandaughter's third birthday so i thought be prepâred---quel horreur! loads of people having the same idea but horror of horrors -the price 1€95 per litre for diesel. i think i'll nick a horse from one of the farmers!

It's almost £1.30 a litre for diesel down here - not so bad as in the islands, but every time I go past the garage the price has gone up. I'm hopefully going to bike it to work next week when the kids are at home for half term. Then I'll see if I can get the kids to cycle to school the week after. It'll just mean leaving home half an hour earlier every day!
Rachondarox from Lancs
Sheesh! At the rate that price of fuel is rising I might end up in the business of selling trained oxen for ox carts!! So far I've not had much luck but I'd better get cracking hahahaha!
Michelle Therese from Mooo...
well no petrol in petrol stations in our county---great-thanks to the fishermen etc for their blockades of raffineries ok its a pain but perhaps the french goverment will take heed!

I drink tapwater. Wish my car would do the same. Tired Father, I hope you go easy on the Talisker while strolling... or you would never find your way home. It's extravagance like yours, Tired Father, that puts our country so deeply in hock.
mjc from NM,USA
Perhaps Tired Father meant "talking" rather than walking? A QWERTY thing?? I mean, if he's tired, then why go walking? Or is he tired after walking? I'm sure I'd be tired if I drank whisky whilst walking but everyone else gets tired when I drink whisky while talking. Now the PC's balking. Good evening.

£1 pound and 40.9 pence.it made the front page of the Shetland Times last week. And the national news. See what power a little blog has?

scallowawife from shetland - foggy
Good whisky is never an extravagance. Cheers.
TiredFather from Qwertyville
It is horrendous and impacting on to the price of food up here too. How can folk afford to go to work. So many people do not have public transport and now going off the island has risen with fuel charges announced today. We are going to my daughter's wedding in Ireland and are going to be charged nearly £120 in fuel charges as we have to take 3 flights to get there as our flight booked in Oct was changed so we could not get to the flight from the ferry. Maybe the ex-pats system in Malta would work to help everyone help each other out?
newfies from Quarff
1€90 this morning-now i will go and steal a horse---or maybe i could train moo's isidore!!

Gas is currently $4.00 a gallon over here. It's hurting everyone here.
cajungirl from Birmingham, Alabama
It's 4.00 a gallon today. The news is already reporting at least 5.00 a gallon by mid summer.
glacee from Birmingham, Alabama
just heard on the lunchime news -petrol has gone down a huge 10 dollars per barrel--will we see the difference at the pumps??---somehow i don't think so!
carol from over here
Dear me...how cynical!
Flying Cat from putting a tiger in my tank
For the folk in Birmingham, Alabama, that equates to around $14.00 a gallon, how I wish I could 5, 6 or even $7.00 a gallon.
LT from The over £7.00 a gallon
£1:44.9 today....
scallowawife from shetland - its sunny today!!
You see, this is the problem when Northern Islanders get too much summer sun, they don't have time to groom their blogs...
