yet more rain... and useless forecasts...

Well, I've been to Lerwick, I've visited folk and I've had visitors. And its still raining.

this morning it dawned a glorious day - well it wasn't raining. We set off to walk to the beach, needless to say we had it complete to ourselves.

We wandered, walked, jogged, raced over the beach for about an hour - then the rain came on, and my washing is still on the line - well, not quite on the line its to heavy and wet now. The 91热爆 said it would clear up by night time - or so it appeared from the flimsy dumbed down forecast we get issued with.

BRING BACK ISOBARS: BRING BACK MICHAEL FISH.

Forecasts used to be sensible and reliable, and we could draw our own conclusions. nowadays they don't even mention the wind! how silly is that?

Isn't it just like our Scallowawife to do three blogs in a row. I think a name change to Omnibuswife, is in order. You wait weeks for a blog then three come along all at the same time.

Tws from The Terminus

Ah yes, isobars of fond memory. Those were the days. I can't help having a strange inexplicable fondness for ITV's poached-eggs-in-the-sky though. But we DO expect better from Auntie Beeb. Yes indeedy!!!

Flying Cat from a hard stare

I too miss the "proper" weather forecast so now I go to www.greatweather.co.uk (I am assuming that as we blog therefore we surf). This is a site run by a guy who is, or was, a professional meteorologist and who is also a fanatic. You can get just about any weather info for the world. He collates Met Office. Wetter Zentral, USAF, MET Eirann, you name it and also has lots of interesting other links. Information and fun!

Hyper-Borean from ISOlation

Do you mean that poached egg that's supposed to represent the ulimate in luxury air travel. It cracks me up too.

Annie B from the usual

I suppose it wouldn't be a poached egg if it wasn't...

Flying Cat from omeletting

Weather online (available through the Fetlar School website) has a very good Shetland forecast. You can even access the weather station in Baltasound through it.

Fetlar School from Fetlar

hurry up tws - I havena got all day...this is a luxury bus you know... I actually meant to write bring back Ian McGasgill - I was picturing him and wrote Michael Fish.

scallowawife from pickin up tws at the terminus- 拢1 please

I've got a bus pass, Omnibuswife. Slow down you're going too fast.......................

Tws from Thewheelsonthebusgoroundandround

i think i watch the weather forecast about once every two weeks,i only put the box on every ten days-its so boring

carol from feeling groovy

I laugh when folks down here complain when it's 'windy' - they have absolutely NO idea what real wind is!

Rachondarox from Lancashire

Tried to find the weather forecast through Fetlar School website but failed miserably - me and computers not compatible!! Can anyone tell me what to put in to get the site up! thanks!!

Newfies of Quarff from Mainland Shetland

make up your mind tws - where are we going? where next? the bus is on a steady 50mph - so stop complainin.

scallowawife from bright - but not sunny - shetland

Anywhere, just so long as it's nowhere near, you know who. You should have better music, better seats, the loo at the back, hasn't been emptied, and will you stop going over those speed-bumps at 50mph. Let me aff here.

Tws from The Bus Stop

Please stop it you two. The road goes ever on and on........ (as does Scallowawife & tws' mutual admiration society.)

Muness from In Desperation

Newfy in Quarf, check out the latest blog from Fetlar school, they have all their links listed.

Lerwick Trevor from From watching ONE, or is it two

Hi Scallowawife, is this site any use for you? http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/pressure.shtml

Anne from IBHQ

It might be of use, if they got the bloomin' forecast right. I'm away on my tea break now, oops, I seem to have pressed the wrong button, ah well me being here will cut down the carbon footprint in Lewis.

Tws from Air Traffic Control Room

...one of our scallowawifes is missin'...

Flying Cat from hullo?

Oh sorry. School Inspectors. I see.

Flying Cat from lyingdowninadarkenedroom

As a complete outsider had to say I just love the blog. If you see a bright yellow Fiat on Mainland it's probably me wife, (what? there are hundreds of yellow Fiats on Mainland, yeah right!!!!!) She's up there for 3 months starting Sat 8th Sept and your blog really fired her up for her visit.

The former mouth from Way down south

what is she doing in her yellow fiat? should we wave? is she a school inspector?

scallowawife from feeling curious

Please do wave, she's a pharmacist at the hospital so you're quite safe, unless she's actually driving of course!!

The former mouth from still down south

I just thought what with scallowife being bowed down with work and holiday bookings stress it would be nice just to pop by and say "miaow".

Flying Cat from soothing scallo's fevered brow from a distance
