A small brained, big city cat. I am sure it will find the right owner. Not to worry. Scallowawife: what is going on? Your cat runs away, your dog decides to put himself under the wheels of a tractor ... How are the sheep doing?

Judging by the silence that's met your cat's stowaway voyage and disappearance, no one in NI gives a hoot about cats. Are dogs (apart from working border collies) favored in Shetland or Orkney over cats? I must admit to preferring dogs myself. Do dogs have to be on leash all the time in public in the NI, and are you expected (by law) to clean up after your dog? Are dog wardens lurking behind trees and bushes in Lerwick and Kirkwall first think in the morning?

mjc - when is the 'first think' of the morning? no. no news of dear cat.

typo. of course, AS YOU KNOW! First THING, it should have been. Say, how is da Haaf at the Fisheries College? I googled the College recently: interesting.

Aw. What a sad story Scallowawife. Northern animals are noted for their adaptability and cleverness so she's probably found herself a nice sympathetic person to look after her. In fact she's probably marrying an computer teacher or somesuch. Hope you get some good news

just heard on the radio about 14 cats needing homes their owner had died. 14 might push up the housekeeping bill a bit. Annie - you might be right - there is a wedding soon where no one has seen the bride yet. hmmm. should I interfere or let nature take its course?
