Hello....on a trip home a few years ago I aquired some bluebells, wrapped the in soggy towels and hid them in a cowboy boot. They only lasted 2 seasons, a nursery guy told me the soil acidity was not right. And to think they grow wild ALL over Scotland ,........very very special.

Frodo, I think the boot fungus finally got your bluebells. Kidding. Did USDA not have a beagle on duty? The last time I came through customs I got flagged by one of them for having had an apple in a pocket (by then long eaten). By the way, you could change the acidity of the spot (adding limestone, or adding peat moss, depending on where you want your ph to go). Frodo, surely they have the same bluebells in a nursery in Utica?

Looking forward to the hordes coming from Fetlar school to see us. Will they be able to get all those coaches on the ferries?
