Westray cat in Wimbledon bid

MC was in jubilant mood. Great Britain are so short of seeded players for Wimbledon, he thought he'd offer his services. That was until we pointed out that he'd misread 'racquet sport' as a 'rat-catcher sport'. Needless to say his paws didn't cope with the racquet that was as big as him.

However, not to miss out. He decided to see how he'd cope with being ball-boy. I must say he did very well at chasing a loose ball and catching it - not so good at passing it back. Still that's what you have staff for.

So here's some photos...

The publicity photos - every star needs one.

Checking his pose - ready for the ball.

What a catch!

Right - what next?

Staff!!!

Off to the locker Room

That was hard work.

Hopefully that will satisfy MC's fans for a while. (Thanks Carol)

Comments MC is just gorgeous, ML. How is he with a table tennis ball?

Jill from EK

He does push the odd smaller ball around but seems to prefer it if it's a green colour. We have been known to pass a ping-pong-style ball between us. The cracker was when he tried to join in with Westray's school sports day (when he was younger) and sat in the goal mouth waiting for the ball in an ad-hoc game of footie. It was a picture to see him chase and grab the football (thrice his size) and watch as he was rolled over the top and land on his back. He'd then run back to the goal mouth for more. I couldn't have taken a picture if I had a camera as I was laughing too much. MC and entertainment go hand-in-paw

Bravo! Fanclub well satisfied. We're pleased to see the Mighty MC wears his battlescars lightly and his magnificence is undimmed.

Flying Cat from an admiring glance

welcome back--MC looks in great form xxxx

carol(the one in france) from over here

I think the last picture gives some impression of MC's goalkeeping skills. That's really funny, ML, I wish I'd seen it!

Jill from EK

That cat would be tough competition. # Good to hear from you Madlamb.

mjc from NM,USA

Ahem. Tough competition for whom?

Flying Cat from inferiority complex

madlamb--with a bit of luck MC could be drawn against andy murray or richard gasquet-- MC would win!

carol from over here-

Surely M. Gasquet would blow one if he found himself drawn against a kitty?

Flying Cat from sucking a mint

MC is looking good as always, I'm sure Socks would love to challenge him to a football match, or possibly rugby, as he does like to pick up the 'ball' and run.

Mia from in charge

FC--i would have been very, very dissapointed if you hadn't came up with that one!! por kid is so of form just now it would have been a good excuse when he loses in the first round! (ouch)

carol from where's me sun cream?

Mia - MC does a very fine rugby tackle. He grabs both my ankles and then bites my shin. He also is known to leap up to thigh level for an attack. He forgets I don't have the same thick skin he has when he decides to 'play'. Though I have taught him to respond to a request of'soft paws' so he retracts his claws before a wrestling match which, to be fair, he generally obeys. ......................................................... Perhaps we should be training Socks and MC for the Olympics - how's his gymnastics?

MadLamb from Rubbing knees

Madlamb: if you want a team for the furryolympics i can send you marmaduke and gabby the tabby,of 5 cat gang---training may tire them out(i live in hope)!!

carol from basking in the sun

Okay - bids in for 'sports' you or your furry friends can contribute to for this event. Mia must be be a gold for 'dusting with tail'.

MadLamb from Furry Olympic Planning Dept

Madlamb:may i suggest mia be captain of a hockey team(her tail)marmaduke for the(running) marathon, gabby the tabby in the sumo section, marmers for the boxing(see fc's oldfriends blog) FC,for endurance(ville) cause he is sleek he could walk a 20km very quickly, socks in the judo team and i wait for others to nominate their purrfect team members!

carol from in from the sun

Socks is the acrobat, FC for the long jump, MC for the table tennis, Coco for sailing (as he likes messing about in boats)and me, I'll lead the parade!

Mia from in charge

carol from in the sun
