The Last Post?

Well the anchor didn't work (see In for the long Haul). It is with sadness that I need to inform the Island Blogging community that Me, The Husband and MC will be heading sooth in December.

We will be attaching ourselves permanently to the Big Island, in a place called Devon. Not that I really want to give them too much advance warning as they may put up the barriers on the M5 to resist our arrival.

MC is currenty trying to work out how he can take severval bunnies (for long term amusement) in his luggage - especially with the new weight restrictions I have imposed to parallel Loganair's current wisdom. Though I'm not sure the chap who tends the rugby pitch behind the new house will welcome MC's friends.

I may manage another posting before we go, but I'm conscious that time and packing waits for no man, and especially a woman who can only type with repeated use of the backspace key.

However, I will be going out with a flourish. I am helping out with Radio Orkney's first Children in Need Grand Variety Concert, to be broadcast on the usual local FM frequency, but also available for lesser mortals via the Internet (oooh - aaaah). The 'Lamb will be attempting to make a few funnies, but they will have a distinct Orkney flavour, so translations will be available on request.

For anyone wishing to follow the events, I've added the usual Radio Orkney CHiN website to my list opposite.

Farewell. I will remember ye fondly. (And may even make the occasional comment)

Comments MC, this is dire news indeed. I am enshrouded in gloom, not helped by the filthy weather. There are few enough of us felines on this site. Yes I know you are a lamb first and foremost, but, to me, you will forever be the Mighty MC, fearless (?) footloose and fancy-free, boldly going and so forth, upholding hunting and fighting standards emulated by cats all over Orkney and beyond. *Sniffle* Bipeds will be glued to Radio Orkney on 17/11 as per usual, hoping for a Good Price on a particular wall-hanging........... look out for a buff-bottomed bumblebee, bzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Bon Voyage Mad Lamb we shall all miss you and your blog. I am sure that Devons bunny population is just as amusing. Orkney will be a quieter place without you.

Mad Lamb, 'tis sad news indeed. We will miss you. Good luck with everything.

Hi MadLamb, Really sorry to hear that! Good luck with the move and please do come back and check in with Island Blogging regularly.

Anne from IBHQ

Anne (IBHQ) can't we start a special blog for exislandbloggers (including Lambs) to update us on ? Perhaps we can call in exISLEd bloggers

MC and I are touched by your responses. We will, indeed endeavour to keep in touch. Sniff, sniff.

sic transit ... but the saying is not apposite. Devon is a beautiful place, is it not? I have seen photos of the SW Coastal Path when wife and younger daughter spent a week chugging along it. Nice combination of cliffs and sand. Excellent food too, I am told. In any case, you won't be too far from the sea. # You may not have a NI blog, but you can join me in making unasked for contributions (such generosity!), raising some dander here and hackles there, praising and thanking others (always in moderation!). # So, you will be missing the Fank? # Be careful with your move: don't strain your back trying to do everything at once. # Good luck!

Barebraes - It's a good point! We do seem to be losing a few bloggers to the mainland...

There was a Lamb on Radio CHIN last Friday. It sounded tasssty, but I was unable to get into the radio to find out..........Devon glorious Devon, where it rains six days out of seven and on the seventh it p....s down. It's the verticality and lack of wind that make the difference. Whereas here....... Meanwhile, if only to combat the dander-upping and hackle-raising tendencies of mjc, carry-on-commenting. (Though he only does it because he knows it teases, bless 'is little cottons.)
