Were Still Here

Where has this year gone?

I didn't realise how long it had been since my last blog.

No Mjc we havn't fallen from the roof and squished the Hooch.

Things have slowed down a bit at Barebraes although the work is still continuing. I think the enthusiasm of the Summer months has sort of subsided and some mornings it is hard to get motivated. I remember having this problem last winter, Darker and shorter days take their toll and the warm bed is a far better prospect than getting dressed in more layers and going outside.

On a lighter note the winter brings different sorts of entertainment, Harvest 91热爆 Dances and the thought of one day seeing the Merry Dancers above Barebraes.

The winter months are littered with events and occasions to forget the bad weather and enjoy the night life.

There is even talk of staging a Christmas Concert again this year.

Well as we plod on with the renovations its nice to know that theres some light releif to come this winter.

Heres an update on our progress so far

Perseverance pays off in more ways than one barebraes! Congratulations on all the hard graft and getting your blog up at last!

Flying Cat from an admiring glance

Thank heavens for small miracles , the post has miraculously been found Thankyou IBHQ

You are getting there. It should be completely renovated in time for the Olympics. We all need deadlines ...

mjc from IN, USA

Room with a view: On a clear day, you can see for ever... Great to hear from you again. Have you finished the roof? And what will you do with all those pallets when you no longer need them? All the best.

Jill from EK

Its nearly Guy Fawkes Night...

Flying Cat from un-pallet-able

The pallets are our winter wood store Jill and apart from the sturdy ones which will be kept for other scaffolding duties will keep us very warm throughout many winters we hope , at least until the willows grow :) There are less than 100 tiles to go so very soon I hope as long as we get a break in the weather

Barebraes from Shapinsay

Your recycling is admirable, Barebraes, I am most impressed. I wish you great pleasure from your wood fires underneath your new roof! Good luck.

Jill from EK

Wind in the willows. Are they providing some windbreak at least?

mjc from IN, USA

In this wind the willows are more like whips than windbreaks.
