Today 9th July is Shiskine Sports Day featuring the race known internationally as The Shiskine Valley Sheepstakes. This year the racing ewes will have on their new hand made silk waistcoats each a different colour with an embroidered number on each side so you can watch your favorite rush to the winning trough. The proceeds of this event will go to help preserve the old Clachan Church. You will be able to place your bets on your favorite sheep and also you will get the chance to own a racing sheep for the duration of the race. Each sheep will be auctioned by local celebrity Alan Johnston.
You are advised to get syndicates orginised early, as when Alan gets underway you may not get a chance.
