Hi Tony - I put sitting on a fence at the end of my blog, as I'd pinched the use of the laptop and blogged it outside while sitting on a fence! lol
I've put the link to the publicity company who's running the Embrace Wind campaign below, just in case you wanted to drop them a line or 6.
I think we should be looking to alternative fuel methods, but favour wave power, however a friend on the island is really well-read on wind power, and I'm going to have a chat with him the next time I see him. We did chat about it briefly when we met in Vancouver, but you know how quickly the conversation topics can change when you are up and down to the bar.....

It's with much regret Pondhead, that I have to blog the death of Duncan Gunn.
Duncan was a lifeline for folk on the island when it came to fuel/vehicle issues.
He was a good man, who did his utmost for folk on Lismore, Port Appin, Appin and the surrounding area.
He will be greatly missed.

Where do I start...
Well the last survey has been thrown out. There was a lot of controversy, and a lively debate at the CC meeting.
We are heading back to the start again, but still seem a bit befuddled. If it helps Pondhead, try reading the Community Council minutes posted on the island's website.
Click the link for "Current Island News" and at the top of the page you'll find a link to the Minutes of the Meetings.
Happy Reading.....

Did you all see the photo in the OT last week of our new - sorry that shouldn't be new its been there for a while - finally opened Fire Station!
I'd love to tell you that we also have a Fire Engine - but our new appliance apparently went to another island!
Instead we've got a Landrover. Which is fine - except that it still doesn't carry water, which didn't help when my caravan went on fire...
However, I have to say that the Volunteers on the island did a cracking job in trying to put it out.
Cheers!

Okay - did anyone else notice in the OT today, the similarities between the Scalpay news and the Kyle of Lochalsh news.
Is it a case of "Imitation is the highest form of flattery"?
