Trip to Thistle Centre Car Park in Stirling

So there I was in Stirling on Wednesday. I'd a busy day ahead and a long one when I drove the car into the Thistle car park about 2pm. It was busy but I got a space and managed to manouver the car into the (tight) space. Car next to me had a driver who didn't seem to be too great at parking cars in marked bays!
So off I go and get something to eat and get my spikes reheeled, and pick up stuff from the jeweller. Total of 25 minutes I was in Stirling for and spent a total of 拢12.15.
So I head back to the car and realise that although the car next to me has left, its been replaced with another car who is even closer than the last one. So bearing in mind that I've got a car to my right and a HUGE CONCRETE PILLAR (can you see where I'm going) on my left, I slowly edge forward. I get my left wing mirror past the pillar when two young toddlers start running towards the car, with a harried mother pushing a pram chasing. I stop and the mother catches up with the girls and heads into the lift area. I then realise I've got a clear space to get out and drive forward. That's when it happened. That really nasty sound of car doors against a concrete pillar. The result is about 拢350 worth of repairs. All I can say is that goodness for protected no claims bonuses and an excess of 拢100.....
So if you go down to Stirling, mind where you park, and if there are any kids running about in front of your car. Keep driving ;-)

Not sure what is better, having a bar or not being able to go to Stirling (unless you have 2 days). Hope the quiz is good.

Ouch!
Planners seem to be cramming more and more cars into the same spaces these days - presumably to make more money. I expect that somewhere in Brussels there is a EC Carpark Space 'standard' that all countries are supposed to comply with. Just the sort of thing they waste money on.
This is another reason I drive a tatty old Landrover - you don't mind the odd knock or twenty.

You need to keep an eye open for these lumps of stone work. Just ask Beth!!!
So if that's you with the car off the road, how did you get to the island this weekend?

Just goes to prove that you need to keep your eyes open for great lumps of masonry in town as much as in the 'wilds of lismore'.
So thats you AND Beth with the car in the garage. I think it was a copy-cat crash!!!
