The young stars of Harry Potter: Where are they now?

Matthew Lewis has some pretty weird stuff in his makeup room

Think your morning routine is horrific? This is much worse than a spilled latte … maybe.

When the actor who played Neville Longbottom dropped by to hang with on Radio 1 Breakfast we were shocked. Matthew Lewis no longer looks anything like the shy student from Hogwarts.

Well, hello there!

Here's what he's been up to since the school for wizards shut it's doors - along with the rest of the young cast from the Harry Potter movie franchise.

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom)

Matthew’s story adds a little Ugly Duckling magic to the already fantastical world of Harry Potter, having bloomed from an awkward child star to a certified acting hunk.

Matthew has enjoyed a successful acting career in the years since Hogwarts, with roles in TV series' including , and . Loves a 91Èȱ¬ show!

He also got his kit off for the front cover of Attitude magazine, raising temperatures and wands across the country.

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter)

How best to put your life as a child star behind you? Getting naked on stage, duh. Soon after the end of the Potter franchise, Daniel made headlines with his role in Equus for both his performance and his er, manhood.

His post-Potter career goes from strength to strength, with lead roles in acclaimed horror and fantasy movies such as Horns, The Woman In Black and Victor Frankenstein.

He has also won critical acclaim for his role as poet Allan Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings and goes undercover in a white supremacy group in new thriller, Imperium.

Dan will next star in Swiss Army Man where he plays a talking, farting corpse. Magical...

He’s come a long way since Privet Drive, that’s for sure.

Daniel recently popped in to chat to Grimmy about his latest movies and his obsession with Stranger Things. He also dished out some rather helpful life advice to listeners...

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger)

Emma played studious Hermione in the Harry Potter movies and when the franchise came to a close, went back to school.

But unlike her Potter character, Emma balanced her studies with a string of critically acclaimed indie movies such as The Perks Of A Wallflower and The Bling Ring. She also dabbled in mainstream roles in films such as This Is The End and Noah – to varying degrees of success.

Emma has also used her fame to promote good causes and in 2010 launched a fashion range with Fair Trade fashion brand, People Tree.

In early 2016, Emma announced that she would take a break from acting to focus on women’s rights work, having previously been appointed a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. She will, however, be seen next in a live action version of Disney’s classic, Beauty And The Beast.

She is still top of the class in every aspect of her career.

Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley)

As well as being confused for Ed Sheeran by fans (no really, it happened) and starring in the singer's music video for Lego House, Rupert Grint has appeared in a variety of roles since his Potter years.

He teamed up with Julie Walters, who plays his mum in the Harry Potter movies, in the critically acclaimed Driving Lessons in 2006. More recently he provided voices in animated movies Underdogs and Postman Pat.

His next major project is a TV adaptation of Guy Ritchie’s iconic 2000 movie, Snatch, in which he will star and serve as executive producer.

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy)

As the villainous Draco Malfoy, Tom Felton terrorised Harry Potter and the heroes at Hogwarts. His roles since have also seen him work the bad guy to excellent effect.

Tom has made his mark with a key (and thoroughly evil) role in 2011 movie, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and as a shady character in US crime drama, Murder In The First.

He will return to the small screen in the third series of The Flash as Julian Dorn. His casting has been the subject of huge speculation from fans, who believe his character could eventually be revealed to become a classic DC Comics character – with Doctor Alchemy, Mirror Master and Cobalt Blue among the fan favourites.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)

Ginny Weasley didn’t just catch the eye of Harry Potter, actress Bonnie Wright was snapped up by Next Models Agency after her role in the movies.

Her acting career remains her focus, however, and she has appeared in several critically acclaimed productions since Harry Potter, including Before I Sleep with David Warner and Tom Sizemore.

Her next project is a remake of A Christmas Carol.

Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory)

From one of the world’s ultimate teen heartthrobs to a respected actor, Robert Pattinson has long thrown off the shackles of his role as the achingly handsome Cedric Diggory in The Goblet Of Fire.

He became a global star with his role in The Twilight Saga movies, but since they ended, he has taken a number of serious and mature roles.

Water For Elephants, Cosmopolis and Maps To The Stars are just some of the dramas that have made Pattinson one of the hottest, and most acclaimed, young stars in Hollywood.

James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley)

Twins James and Oliver starred as George and Fred Weasley in the Harry Potter movies. Since 2011, they have appeared in a handful of short films and TV productions.

The brothers will appear together in upcoming British movie Own Worst Enemy and in horror film, Jabberwocky Rise.

They are both keen golfers and keep their Harry Potter friendships alive by playing rounds with Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Daniel Radcliffe and Matthew Lewis.

Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas)

Alfred Enoch had a small role in the Harry Potter movies, but has since landed a major role in one of the biggest TV shows in the US.

He is now best known as legal student Wes Gibbons in How To Get Away With Murder, alongside one of Hollywood’s hottest stars, the indomitable Viola Davis.

Josh Herdman (Gregory Goyle)

Josh Herdman terrorised the students of Hogwarts as one of Draco Malfoy’s crew, but the actor has since left acting behind to pursue a more ‘hands on’ profession.

He became an MMA fighter in 2016 after a string of small post-Potter acting roles. He won his first match in April 2016.

Jamie Waylett (Vincent Crabbe)

Legal problems caused Jamie to lose his role in the Harry Potter movie franchise after Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince in 2009.

He was sentenced to a 120 hour community service order in 2009 due to drug possession and was given a two year jail sentence in 2012 for his part in the London riots.

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)

Evanna has starred in a number of TV and film projects since her role in Harry Potter, most notably the lead role in My Name Is Emily.

The film was nominated for eight Irish Film And Television Awards in 2015, including a nod for Evanna as Best Actress in a Leading Role.
