The best pop and rap collaborations in the history of everything

new single The Greatest is a little bit special. Not only is it a pop epic (we have come to expect nothing less), but she has also teamed up with on the new tune.

We'd never have paired the two, but we're not the ones writing worldwide pop hits and now we obviously know why.

The Greatest already ranks among one of our favourite pop and rap collaborations. Here's some of the most perfect pairings in pop history.

Sia and Kendrick Lamar

Sia's new single The Greatest features Kendrick Lamar but the video does not - which is quite annoying for the purposes of this article BUT WE WILL MAKE DO.

It can't be easy for anyone to compliment Sia's vocals ( coped very well on Cheap Thrills because, Sean Paul) but the subtlety of Kendrick's verse on The Greatest works perfectly. It also helps that he is one of the greatest rappers in the world.

Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj

Leave these two alone together and the results are pure filth. Perhaps it was who made Bang Bang so family friendly. Scratch the surface of and new hit Side To Side and you'll uncover one of the rudest pop songs EVER. We're not going to explain any more, you can work it out for yourself.

Smut aside, it's also an amazing pop tune. Just don't take any cycling tips from Miss Minaj.

Rihanna and everyone

. . . . Nicki Minaj. . . If there's a rapper, been there, duetted and scored herself a mega-hit.

It's not possible to pick her best, but everything she does with Drake is pure fire.

Geez Ri Ri, save some for everyone else.

Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar

(Warning: Third party videos may contain adverts)

Oh hello again Kendrick. We would have once said that is one of the least hip hop stars in pop. But then along came her Bad Blood remix and - hey, what do we know?

He joined her in the video to sit in an invisible car. AS YOU DO.

Justin Bieber and Big Sean

(Warning: Third party videos may contain adverts)

Rappers love , but collaboration on Justin's Purpose album is one of his best hip hop hook ups.

Big Sean brings an intimate narrative to No Pressure while Justin croons to the (current) love of his life.

Fifth Harmony and Ty Dolla Sign

(Warning: Third party videos may contain adverts)

was more than happy to play the eye-candy in Work From 91热爆 video, as well as dropping a killer verse on the girl's global smash.

Ty has collaborated with some of the hottest names in urban music, but it was this mega pop jam that gave him the biggest hit of his career.

Beyonce and Jay Z

They've played us time and time again and we LOVE IT. Lemonade album launched a gazillion (incorrect) headlines about the state of her marriage to Jay Z, only for everyone to later discover they are OK, actually.

Before that, they teased us with a fictional crime spree in 03 Bonnie And Clyde and hinted at their own sex life in Drunk In Love. Long may these players play.

Katy Perry and Kanye West

(Warning: Third party videos may contain adverts)

Kanye West is no rapper for hire, so it takes a pop GIANT to persuade him to drop a verse.

is that giant and ET is the hit they collaborated on. Kanye even shot scenes set in outer space for the video. He's more fun than a lot of people probably think.

OneRepublic and Timbaland

(Warning: Third party videos may contain adverts)

There was a time when Ryan Tedder wasn't The Most Powerful Man In Pop and had to turn to rapper and producer for a leg up into the charts.

didn't do much on the song ("eh, eh") but he did help on their way to conquering the world and the tune is still massive.

Ke$ha and Pitbull

(Warning: Third party videos may contain adverts)

The charts do indeed miss party anthems. Timber is the star's most recent major hit where she teamed up with Mr Worldwide himself,

It's probably best not to study some of Pitbull's lyrics here too hard, but this floorfiller is a near perfect pop collab.

BRB, we're off to chop some wood.

Justin Timberlake and T.I.

(Warning: Third party videos may contain adverts)

plays the bad guy to blue eyed boy of pop on My Love, which owes as much to Timbaland's beats as it does either performer.

BTW - we think JT probably has some bad guy in him too.

Little Mix and Sean Paul

(Warning: Third party videos may contain adverts)

From Jamaica to High Wycombe, here we have one of the most geographicaly diverse pop and rap collaborations ever.

Sean Paul phones in (literally, just watch the video) his performance on this one, while the girls show off their vocals - at least, the parts they've not had to censor for some filthy language.

There's nothing like a break-up to make you feel sweary.
