My Week in Aberdeen

I went to Aberdeen from Shetland on the plane. We got on the bus and went to Clan House.
I had my own room and keys. The room had a shower, toilet, sink and obviously a TV. There was a lounge down the hall. It had a X-Box.
When we went out that night we had pizza at Pizza Hut.
The next day I went to the hospital, and they put numbing cream on my hands so I wouldn鈥檛 feel the needle. It hurt anyway so they gave me gas. It made me feel light and dizzy and then like I was in a dream. I drifted off to sleep. We went home after I woke up.
The next day I woke up to get shampoo from dad. I pushed my self up and I fell because my hand was still numb from the cream. We went to the street to get the bus to go to Edinburgh. We were going to Murrayfield to see Scotland get whooped by Italy but I still enjoyed it.
The next day, we went bowling and one of our group won a dog at the claw grips. I managed to beat Dad at bowling by 4 points. I had a great time. The next day I had king rib and chips for dinner.
We went home the next day.

We've been busy with our enterprise project this week so there hasn't been much time free to blog. However during Friday afternoon's Golden Time we went outside and tried to fly our kite. We met with success.

On Friday 16th March we are opening a very special comic cafe at the school. We will be open from 12:30 - 2:30 serving Toasties, Bacon Rolls, Drinks & Sandwiches. There will also be the usual fancies available. The pupils are cooking up a red nose storm!
Please come along & support us. We are even offering a food courier service to the 3:05 ferry.
There is the usual (infamous) raffle as well. All donated raffle prizes gratefully received!

We open officially at 12:30 - but various people asked if they could sneak up and have elevenses. So in the interests of Comic Relief we broke a rule.
More updates later. More on the school website as well.
We've already had a donation from Yell. Thankyou.

We opened at 12:30 with all the baking ready, a pile of bacon rolls and cheese toasties. The buns looked delicious as was the tomato soup. Marie, our cook, had even dyed her whites a wonderful shade of red!

As a health promoting school we had side salad faces. Notice how it has a red nose. One of the pupils did these. They were incredibly popular.
Service was always with a smile even if their hair was on the rampage.
The fund raising began.

Fetlar is a small place - with a population of 58 (according to some sources) so we expected only a few people to visit our cafe.
Wedeliberately opened just before the island's shop closed in order to attract custom. When the shop shut at 1 we had a surge on our bacon rolls & toasties. The raffle tickets were selling fast.

By 1:30 there were some 32 people crammed into our school. That's eight adults to every pupil.
We had raised over 脗拢120 on the raffle & prizes were still coming in.
Marie, our cook, thought that a set meal would be easy to manage. We called it the big one. It was very popular. By 1:30 we had almost run out of bacon rolls. We had many comments on the effectiveness of our poster as well.

Almost the end of our mammoth blogging session - but its all in a good cause.
We held the raffle at around 2pm as we were nearly out of everything.
These lucky people won prizes. Don't you just envy them?
The raffle raised 脗拢205.
Thanks to everybody who came up to the school.

Phew! By 3 o'clock the place was silent. The last of the rolls & the fancies had been delivered to the ferry crew and the grand counting had begun.
The Comic Cafe closed its doors.
脗拢415 for Comic Relief from Fetlar or 脗拢104 per child. Some going!
Thanks everybody for eating, cooking, selling and coming!

Everybody joined in and helped. I鈥檇 like to thank the people of Fetlar, Mrs School Cook, Mr.Teacher and the kids. I was behind the counter three quarters of the fundraiser. Yippee!!!!! In our school fundraiser I was in charge of it all. But I must thank the big people above my work and the little people below my work. I would like to thank Mr Teacher. I would also like to thank the people who came and helped reach the amount of 脗拢418.99p. Most of all thanks to Mrs Cook for doing the cooking and the people who brought in fancies and to the people who helped dish up the salad or cut up the bread for the Toasties or grate the cheese. I have to thank them all for this.
On Friday I enjoyed doing the raffle and calling out the prizes. I won some
big proper Chinese noodle bowls. Our Toasties, bacon rolls, fancies and our sorbets sold really well.

I, the Fetlar P7, am moving to Spain next week and I am very excited about it. I will be going to a Spanish school and I have been learning Spanish for 5 months. I will miss Shetland a lot and am very sad about it but I'm looking forward to Spain.
PS Thank you and good night.
