You kids are fantastic! And you look so happy too!! Congrats. I guess your teach can't be that bad, eh? Is that corn white, yellow or one of the multi-colored extra sugar varieties? I assume you boiled the corn, but next time you should try roasting them (out of this world).

Good for you, young uns. It is so, so nice to grow and eat your own veg! We grew Shetland Black potatoes again this year. Have you tried them? They are superb - they are very shiny dark purple colour and taste amazing. I'm very jealous of your broccoli - it grew better than mine, but I don't have a polytunnel yet. Good luck in the future, and enjoy eating your goodies!
Stromness Dragon from The tattie patch
We did grow black tatties, but we haven't had time to sample them yet. It was our second brocolli crop as well.

Stir fry/sautee the broccoli, or dip largish florets in batter and deep fry it. Don't boil it (I know, I know, that's what grandma does ...).

Deep Fry???!!! DEEP FRY!!! I'm sure the pupils at Fetlar Primary are far to health conscious to consider such a thing.

Aye right...

Life is for living, not dieting. A little deep fried never hurt anybody. Oh, for some piping hot spicy Pop-eyes deef fried chicken!! Just stay away from those soft drinks, though. Moderation and balance.
