A special blog for the weekend's visitors

We had a group up from Glasgow for a weekend of drinking and debauchery. They managed quite well. In the brief time between breakfast and the bar opening when they were vaguely sober, I got abuse for not blogging enough. They have fancy boxes and sticks and access the internet (blackberries) except for the very important people in responsible jobs, who leave anything work-related at home, so this year I am saving my tips money to get one and then I can blog at work too (dream on). Actually the no up-loading at weekends is quite restricting, please Anne, can't you pay anyone some overtime?
Anyway, the bar was full on Saturday, it was several peoples official birthdays, (official in the sense Saturday night was a good night to get drunk), we had fishermen in and the pool ladder winner was happy and no-one mentioned the rugby (well, they wouldn't would they, and no, it wasn't a try and I can't believe Jonny didn't get hurt) so spring is on the way.
The runway had its first plane. Twice. Apparently he left his mobile here and had to come back for it. The runway isn't supposed to be used yet, the gates are padlocked! How is that supposed to work? Anyhow, the guy working in the building wondered why the generator (there is no electric there yet, although the windsock is fitted with lights), why the generator made a funny noise, and when he looked out of the window there was this plane from Connel. The word is he needed hardly any runway, so that's that sorted out.
Digital darkroom is finished. We failed our end-of-course test. He gave us the same photo we had the first week and told us to remove the red eye again and got seven blank looks. We successfully pasted wind turbines onto the rocks at Hogh beach, and he showed us how to make them spin, so now I know how Arnish gets his flashes. Then I went and drank far too much with some very dodgy company and overslept and was late for work. It's ruined my reputation and made me vincible, I think that's a bit like the runcible spoon.

Hi Nic, I know the lack of weekend moderation's a pain. Hopefully one day soon we'll be in a position to offer live access to bloggers. I live in hope...

As long as it doesn't make you Vince Hill. There's an awful lot of this ancient 'music' about just now.

Shocked by your vincibility!!!

Thanks for your kind words but I think you overestimate us. The brief time between breakfast and the bar opening was just not quite long enough to sober us up from the night before! And as for rthe dodgy company...not half as dodgy as some of your charades! Thanks again for a great weekend and for introducing us to the weird and wonderful ways of island life. Roll on next year!
