Beer News

That's the beer ordered for the raft race in a fortnight. If everything goes according to plan we will have two beers from The Oyster brewery on Seil Island and two from Tobermory on Mull. Definitely an island beer bash this time. I hope everyone appreciates the sacrifice I've made by not ordering Nimbus from Atlas again (my favourite beer so far). We just have to arrange some better weather this year. At least I'll get to drive on some better roads.

On the road front they seem to be passing the buck in the Oban Times. There must be something wrong with a system which pays people to manage tax payers money to keep Argyll running, and then those people stick their heads in the sand and pretend the problem isn't there. It will be impossible to work out how much the road has cost locals in vehicle damage, and extra fuel, or how many visitors have only explored half of Coll because they refused to risk their cars on the potholes. At least our councillor, Ian Gillies, has done his job in hassling the council. He lives on Tiree, but came over to see for himself the damage, and is very helpful by email. I know there are plans to combine Coll and Tiree with Mull. I wonder if our representative (who would almost certainly live on Mull) would have fought our corner so well then.
