I like the rain

Thank God it鈥檚 raining and I don鈥檛 have to be outside being busy. It鈥檚 been so long since I was playing on the machine my other half has changed the desktop wallpaper, I鈥檓 not good with change unless I know it鈥檚 happening. He鈥檚 put up a picture of the dog in the sea as the sun sinks down in the north west. I think it was the last time he saw me properly, we went for a romantic walk along Cliad after I finished work to watch the sunset. We awarded it 5 points out of 10, there were no clouds so the colours weren鈥檛 good.
The island is slowly filling up with summer visitors, the road is deteriorating again, the half marathon has been cancelled this year because of the road. The next event is the Raft Race and Garden Party on July 8th. This is raising money for the church鈥檚 centenary year. I鈥檓 looking for real ale for the bar, any suggestions?

Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted is very refreshing beer, easily drunk [are'nt they all] and it's Scottish !!

Reiver from Ale free zone

What about the Skye Brewery or the Shetland stuff? I did post a comment about cheaper Fyne t-shirts, but maybe that got censored... And oh, Vital Spark. Pretty please.

Doug from Coll

If I was 18 again I would say Theakston's Old Peculiar. Me & my chums spent a few sunday afternoons drinking that treacle-y beer in our youth in the Ship Inn in downtown Broughty Ferry, It didn't half make you loose your balance. My sensible head now says Deuchars IPA at 3.8% you can afford to have a few pints without feeling crap in the morning. It has to be said that a I managed 4 pints of Hoegaarden whilst watching England play Sweden there, so a nice weiss beer would worth considering as well.

Duncan from Livvy

Good grief Duncan from Livvy, I had despaired of the literacy of people in the New World having witnessed so many professionals using loose instead of lose. Now I see it used by Scots. Whatever happened to the "Best education in the world?"

Where did you hear the half marathon had been cancelled? The race organiser didn't know anything about it, so it sounds unlikely.
