Starting with a stimulus such as a poem, picture or a scene from a film can be a good way of inspiring ideas. Music can often be used to convey a range of moods and emotions that can be seen in a variety of other media.
Think about which mood you are trying to convey and choose instruments, a tempo and dynamics that suit your theme.
