Using music concepts and compositional methodsComposing in specific musical styles
Original music can be created in a variety of ways, through exploring and developing music ideas in a range of genres and styles through composing, improvising or arranging activities.
You may decide to compose a piece of music in a certain style or genre.
As you discover more about music, you will learn to recognise the key concepts from each musical style. These concepts can be a starting point for your own composition. This could be:
instruments
rhythms
chord progressions
themes and subject matter
Try to use concepts that you have discovered in the music you have performed and listened to.
