Big day for Skye school complex

Work has started on a 拢25m community and education complex on Skye.
Alpha Schools is constructing 11 rural and urban community schools across the Highlands and Islands at a total cost of 拢134m.
Construction work in Portree - funded under a Public Private Partnership finance package - began on Tuesday.

Trio face court over safe's theft

Three men have appeared in court in connection with the theft of a safe containing thousands of pounds on Shetland.
The safe was stolen during a break-in at the Eid community shop in Aith last week.

Residents 'support' isle turbines

Most people who live near the site of a proposed 27-turbine wind farm on Skye support it, according to a community council chairwoman.
Moira Macdonald, of Skeabost and District Community Council, said a ballot of Edinbane residents last year found the majority back Amec's plans.

Isles air fares scheme takes off

Cheaper air fares have come into effect for people living in parts of the Highlands and Islands.
Residents in the area are now entitled to a 40% discount on trips to Scotland's main airports.

Hello,
We've had trouble with the IB database recently.
This has made some posts and comments take ages to go live and some comments have even gone missing.
