Off Tae Mainland!

Well, the guid news is that the County Show looks set tae gaun aheid, maybe withoot the kye and sheep, but wi` horses and dogs, although, according tae the Grampian news this morning there might be livestock movement restrictions lifted by Friday, so am no` too sure whether or no` there`ll be kye and sheep at the show.
Either way, yours truly has tae tak a few days off tae get ready for it, for I hae a stall there so am working flat oot tae be ready tae gaun on the ferry wi` me stuff on Friday, so this`ll be the last blog til next week. (Wha`s that cheering at the back there! I can hear ye!!)
I will tak me camera and tak pics of the show though nae doubt others wi` better cameras will be taking some fine pics tae.

Interesting, is it no, that after a` the floods doon sooth, and the news coverage o` any place flooded nearby London, a village in the north o` Scotland got evacuated due tae mud slides and it never got the national news sae far as I`m aware....methinks the powers that be doon sooth think everywhar above the Border just doesnae exist until it comes tae collecting taxes time..... ;-)
Onyway, that`s me off, I hope a`body has a grand week/end, if ye get tae the show mind keep an eye oot for me and feel free tae stop by and say Hullo! I dinnae bite! :-D
Just keeping me fingers crossed noo for a flat ferry crossing...it`s been awfy windy the past few days! And whit a thunderstorm thon was! Fair rattled the windows, it did.

have a good time hermit!! abouth the vilaage being evacuated i never heard about it although the bbc gives me news updates at least twice a day plus breaking news via internet--what a "good service"! ha ha

weather girl from the usual place

I have heard about the flood hitting specially Pennan even from Norway. I like the coast and the villages from Portgordon to Fraserburgh. I have eaten Cullen Skink in Cullen. Cullen is a very nice place and the soap was delicious. We didn't make to Pennan then, but we are planning a trip this autumn. Hope they have cleaned up the mud.

Dag from Norway

Do give us a full report on the County Show. It's one of the few things I miss. We have those sort of things down here - but it's all a bit big and convoluting for the likes of little ol' me. The County Show - the only day there's more folk on the ferries than on the outer islands. Surely a good enough reason for a set of bridges as I've ever heard. Hope your stall goes well.

If we get over to the show we will look for you. Have a good one :)

MC (meaning Mighty Calvin or Manse Cat - NOT madcat!!!)...............is doing okay...................We had a forced bath to rid him of some unwanted hitchhikers followed by a fight with another cat (probably telling him he smells like a girl!) so he has been very grumpy and a bit tender in the wounds for the last two days.

Poor MC suffering the indignities of total immersion against your will. You don't seem to have had a great time of it down in the Deep South so far. I favour the blue spot solution to unwanted visitors; a bit dampish for a short while, but much less of an indignity! Hang in there old chum, liff is a cabaret...whatever that is!

Flying Cat from in sympathy

apologies Hermit for hijacking your blog................................................................................. MC was duffed up AGAIN - methinks by the same cat - judging by the fur in MC's claws. This time getting a swipe IN the ear. Lot's more grumbling and no time for a second rinse......The hitchhikers has established themselves well and left lots of debris, so the wash was not just to rid the HHs................ We're heading to Edinburgh on Saturday and MC is traveling with us for some respite care and fields of rabbits at my parents' farm. Although they say they have stoat/weasels around - do they go for cats?

MadLamb from Nursing again!!!

Have a good trip and a wonderful time MadLamb. Maybe you could find some of that Stornoway sausage in Edinburgh.

mjc from NM,USA

poor MC, drenched and torn and then having to travel, hope there are plenty of rabbits to make up for it - you may rest assured i will lecture your staff when i see her!

13 comments...that might be unlucky. But now it's 14 so that's okay. Phew!

Flying Cat from bringing good luck

No pictures in the blog subsequent to this one, Hermit. No access there for comments either. I expect IBHQ will fix the problem soon. Good to have you back, Hermit!
