Oh heck HL, I came here expecting photo's of you looking Lady GodIvor like, on your horse with the long hair. Or maybe that woman in MacBeth, she had long blonde locks too. We stopped the wallpaper lark years ago, only put up the odd border ( very odd sometimes) in the front room, and the master bedroom ( I'll need to keep off these Estate Agent web sites ) , any chance of any photo's of you stripping, think of how many peoples would visit your blog then. A very cunning blog today HL.....
Tws from The Battered Duck'n'Hen
Poor Tws....a perfectly reasonable hope dashed! Hermit definitely looks like she has the figure for going Godiva, but in this furcoat climate? And think of the damage a nasty recoil could do!Wallpaper, like ironing, is an invention of Auld Nick... Anorak Towers was once a hotbed of Regency strip, flowery dados, vinyl butterflies and My Little Pony........*bleh*
F**ing C*t from The Deepfried Cock&Bull
late hubby solveds the problem with wallpaper-we built a wooden house, inside wood wod and even more bloody wood!! no need for paper or paint-varnished the bloody stuff before putting it on walls or floors!
carol from itchycoo park
Oh I wish we had a wooden hoose Carol! I would love one. Aye Tws, going Godiva is a peedie bit cauld on Sanday, besides, at 45 I reckon I wouldnae be doing onybody ony favours so will keep well covered. Glad tae see I`m no` the only one wha` is anti wa` paper...*shudders*...evil stuff it is...
Hermit from Sanday
it is good having a wooden house, hermit very ecological, well insulated, very cheap to heat, and stays pretty cool when its 36掳in the shade. When you mention 45 is that your age and is,-you look really good
carol from le chalet de St.Dez
mmmmmm a Fjogstad would be nice...
Flying Cat from Dreamland
I agree that wallpaper stripping is YUK. give me emulsion any day. at least when Hooch slobbers its easier to wipe off , thats unless its on the ceiling.:(
Barebraes from Shapinsay
Ugh. That doesn't sound like much fun. I don't even know how one strips wallpaper but it sounds tedious! I never got your email reply - my email is very odd like that sometimes! I opened up a new email account elsewhere and it froze in less then two hours. I'm cursed!!
Michelle Therese from Mainland Orkney
Can you remember which village it was? I'm from there originally. Maybe the women have all run off.
alix from west midlands
So...all the women have gone from a village in Co Durham... and from the Isle of Lewis....is there a commune somewhere full of runaway wimmin? And HOW does Hooch manage to slobber ON THE CEILING??????
Flying Cat from under a duvet
Aye Carol, I`m 45, some days I feel aboot 90, others me other half swears I`m aroond 5 though...;-) Alix, I cannae mind what village it was, I was typing on the laptop at the time and no` paying awfy much attention, but they did show some o` the laddies there and some o` them werenae half bad looking....
Hermit from Middle Age
you don't look your age,as for acting like a 5 year old-welcome to the club--the older i get the crazier the stunts are!!
carol from in the shade
Fc you add water to the hooch and food and then you wait for him to shake his head violently it goes eeeeverywhere !!!
Barebraes from Shapinsay
...and you have to be very very careful with your fingers when typing that.....
Flying Cat from Cheshire Grin
The slobber hits the roof when Hooch has the shakes. Other bullmastiffs do this equally well, Newfoundlands are less violent and thus generally plaster people and walls. # Brick or reinforced concrete (or steel cladding is the way to go, for those of us who don't want to maintain logs. Remember that boothy in Scalloway? That's my idea of a maintenance free shack.
mjc from NM,USA
i remember when our son was two he was sitting in his high chair in the kitchen eating a chocolate mousse--he did not like it so he nicely hit it with the back of his spoon and splosh, the mousse ended up on the ceiling!! how he lanaged it was a mystery but it went all the way up
carol. from in the shade
Sometime I wish I wasn't such a nosey kitty.... I like 'boothy', result of an interesting liason between the Booth and a bothy...
