Mr B has a collection too. an angle grinder an axe a chainsaw, and a large hammer.
Barfebraes from Shapinsay
Nice hides. # Do you use crossbows to hunt as well. Here in the US there is a bow and arrow hunting season, a cross bow season and then hunting with firearms. Grenade launchers and mortars are not allowed yet either on moose (the big kind!) or on quail (thank heavens!).

"Barfebraes from Shapinsay" - surely that's a typo?! # Is it true that Herr B. also has powerful tripod mounted binoculars focused on the ferry landing - to make sure no furrener is on his way to partake of Barebraes's culinary productions?

Just when you think you've got a fellow blogger neatly slotted into 'The Good Liff' she ups and shows her collection of deadly weapons! Handy for catching small furry dinners, if you don't own natural attributes like tooth and claw...
Flying Cat from forty shades of green
Yes its a typo I had been on the sherry again
Barebraes from Shapinsay
weapons on walls ... Reminds me of Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard, with his Dai Katana (japanese samurai sword) on the wall ... He held the blade out, and dropped a square of chiffon over it, it floated onto the blade and was cut asunder by the sparkling blade ... Me, I thought you shouldn't unsheath a samurai blade unless you drew blood first ... been watching too much Bruce Lee, I suppose ...
soaplady from mmmmm ... Kevin Costner... all warm and pink and f
mjc, I dinnae hunt here wi` them, on the Orkney Isles there is no` that much tae hunt! Only bunnies, and they would be just too easy tae tak doon. The hides are goat and calf (there`s more on the other walls) that went for meat, I like tae keep the skins since it would be a waste no` tae. I also have a collection o` axes and swords, mind you wi` an interest in reenactment it`s awfu hard no` tae also hae an interest in weaponry. :-D
Hermit from Sanday
Gosh that's a cliffhanger Soaplady and you were accusing me of lewdness!!!
Flying Cat from all warm and stripey but not f
I did have a genuine, with authentication papers Model 1873 Winchester 44/40. I worked abroad and left it with a dealer in Bristol for safe keeping, he went out of business whilst I was away, and, he tells me it was handed into the police and destroyed. Unfortunately I had to accept his story. What's one worth in the USA mjc?
Lerwick Trevor from Lerwick
I think, more likely tae be Mrs Ghengis than Joan mjc, me being heathen. ;-) I`m a simple soul...just give me an independant Scotland, turn back the centuries to the times o` warring clans, and I`d be a happy wee bunny. I can and do mak` the hides soft, none on the bed but plenty on the sofas and floors and walls. I like me comfort. :-D The last film I saw wi` Kevin Costner was, I think, The Postman...no` quite sure, plenty o` horses in it and the post arriving late. Just like normal!
Hermit from Sanday
Hermit, if you were to re-enact Gandhi, you would only need a dhoti and a loom. SEND PICTURE!!
mjc from NM,USA
"I'm a simple soul ..." Hermit. LOL. Me too, Hermit., me too. And a country boy to boot, yessum.
mjc from NM,USA
I would not know LT: out of my price range. I only collect Holland and Holland stuff myself, to go with my barbours .... [kidding!].
mjc from NM,USA
..."trash the bejayzus "...: really, Hermit, I can't believe you wrote those words [yes, folks, see for yourself. Go to IBHQ, then to the political journalist blog - a sleeper if I ever saw one - and see Hermit's inflammatory comments!! -- If the resulting stampede does not wake up that blog, nothing will!].
mjc from NM,USA
Tut tut mjc there's no need for smut here.
Flying Cat from a hard stare
Oh my Goddess! That one on the left is beautiful with that calf hide behind it! It send tingles through me. Such a nice and striking thing to collect. My collection is I suppose a bit less exciting, spinning wheels and looms and old farm equipment, odd for a girl living in an apartment with no land. But someday I'll get Scottish citizenship and a little plot of land. (I hope.)
