You put the banana still in its skin between the butt cheeks of young Elspeth, then you drip a drop or two of cold water onto the puir wee bairn's back and - bingo - the skinned banana shoots upwards, to be skillfully fielded by your open mouth. Couldn't be simpler. Infection - bad news. All the love and fun of Elspeth and Moo - good news. Keep up the flow of news, and, of course, get well soon!

'just feed and change diapers...' Moo - that all you are required to do!!! Take care and rest all you can to get your strength back. You have had major surgery and have an infection. If you were working for an employer you'd be signed off!!! accept what help you can - and EAT you need it.

I've finally had to break down and put up a sign on the front door saying that I can't have any visitors just noo. I need rest and lots of it. Went and saw the GP today and he put me on a second antibiotic ~ whatever is bothering me is going to get itself nailed hard MUWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! Maybe I just have the flu?? Why is it that every illness and infection has "flu like symptoms"?? I've always wondered that. Anyhoo, I'm doing well. Erlend is being a huge help. He's also hired a friend of ours to take the morning feeding o' the kye so Erlend can take the bairn doonstairs and let me sleep in after pulling the diaper-changing-baby-feeding Night Shift. I really love this sweet baby! She's such a blessing! And this blessing is due to wake up any time now and howl for her next round of diaper-changing-and-milk. I'm endlessly amazed by how well newborns can communicate with body language, facial expressions, and their cries!! Once I started paying attention, and stopped looking at this baby like a blank thing, I found myself understanding a lot of what she was "saying" in her own way! Amazing... each day I spend with this baby I'm left even more in awe of humanity!! It all starts from day one... there's nothing "blank" about babies! Elspeth has opened a whole new world before my eyes! Ok, off to bed with me for a quick rest before she awakens... (Which she'll do as soon as I lie doon...)

scallowawife is right you have been through a lot, c-sections take time to get over and now with the infection, look after yourself, it is lovely to read how much you are enjoying your baby, no they are definitely not blank sheets, they are people with personalities, take care,

Hi, congratulations. Please just chill and don't try to do anything other than feed baby - have you thought if taking to bed and feeding lying down, you can sleep at the same time then!!

I have been enjoying your blog. Your new baby is beautiful. If I was close by I would come and take care of you both. Rick would also.
