Michelle, I am chuffed to bits and really honoured, thanks so much for this. I dinnae really use Orcadian dialect though, but me ain native Scots, but am always happy if folks like tae read what I write. So huge thanks and ((((hugs)))) for you Michelle. :-) (will definately be awarding five blogs too)

At that rate, we'll soon have an overflow at the Academy of Thinking Bloggers. # Perhaps we should not set the bar impossibly high: fun blog might be more achievable than thinking blog (speaking generally). # I may be a joy killer, but what Moo is suggesting sounds strangely like an (innocuous) Ponzi scheme. # Personally, I would give all bloggers (blog owners) an A, and I expect to be fully supported by the staff at IBHQ. Hip, hip ...

Well...any dialect in Scotland is "local" to my American self!

The "Thinking Blogger" award is a great way to promote all sorts of other blogs. Each blog usually has links to other blogs and before you know it folks are reading blogs they never would have heard of before! I chose "Hermit Life" from IB because I really enjoy the gifted story-telling. And if anyone from cyberspace visits "Hermit Life" they will be exposed to Island Blogging as well. I suppose folk can see a negative side to this - but we can find the down side to everything. I can't wait to see what blogs "Hermit Life" posts!

Ponzi?? Please enlighten us mjc.
Ruthodanort from Unst
Ponzi/pyramid scheme, viewed generally, involves exponential increase in participants. The way Moo sets the Thinking Blog award scheme, every one and his gran will soon be an award winner, thereby diminishing the value of the award.
mjc from NM,USA
I didn't invent this "Thinking Blogger Award" - it was given to me and the rules are if you get the award you have to turn around and award five blogs. This doesn't diminish the value of the award by any degree in my opinion!
Michelle Therese from Mainland Orkney
That's all right Moo, that's all right. It's just an ib discussion, not a personal attack on you. If the "award" makes you and others happy, then it's fine with me. Have a pleasant spring.

Could we begin an unken blogger award? One that shows a lack of thought. I nominate Ruthodanort, Damadcoo, Soljey, PuffinBillyUnst (deceased) & Scallowawife as my 5 lucky recipients. I elect myself 'high chief unken' until someone else seizes my tarnished crown. The award needs a better title though. Any Suggestions?
Muness from Fetlar
not sure you are making any sense. do you know what Uncan means? And are you complimenting me or not here? cos if you're not ... Also - you're no uncan to me. hope I'm makin no sense here.
scallowawife from puzzled and confused
The real in the flesh puffinbillyunst is NOT deceased, is he? I hope not # but if he is, I would like to bid on his signed copy of the Shetland Birds (as I mentioned on either his or Herman's blog years ago, I am looking for a door jam) - kidding, folks. I still have not been able to pay full price for one. Anyone has a copy reasonably (or is it: affordably?) priced? Your name on it (or somebody else's!?!!) no objection. Living dangerously on the fringes of the law ... all for the sake of birds.
mjc from NM,USA
I meant unknown- Super Shed Locking Scallowawife! Think maybe unthinking would be a better title. Or GobbyBloggy? Or empty vessell award? As to mjc - I will ask PuffinBillyUnst (who isn't deceased - just ceased to function in the blogosphere) for a cheapo version. I do know he's writing (or editing) another weighty doorstop at the moment.
Muness from Fetlar
Empty Vessel Award (or EVA for short). That's the name I think I'll go for. Maybe I can be chief EWOK (Empty With Out Knowledge).
Muness from Locked in Scallowawife's Shed in deep sooth.
Forgot to say - Herman's blog is completely ceased to be. He'll no blog again!

Farewell Herman, Sweet Blogger, and God Bless You . (Jepp I geed to the chip suppers in Baltisoond and John bought me one to many glasses o wine...)
