Another use for a dog - a draught excluder, excellent!
Flying Cat from Hoochmagandie Hoose
how cruel can one be to dogs-letting the poor thing sleep in front of the door-mine hogs the front of the fireplaceand to sooth fc, the five moggies sleep snuggled up against the hound!!
carol chauveau from france
Here the dog only lies behind the door to stop me getting out. He uses his big brown eyes to plead take me with you.
Muness from Fetlar
yours does that to does he? welcome to the club, the only door mine lies in front of is my bedroom-he rear end is in the bedroom and front half in the hallway-making sure no one else gets in i suppose
carol from france
The doorway is Zeb's chosen den. He LOVES it there! And if anything is put in front of that door he paces and paces and looks at us so unhappily! So he's fine in that door.

He has a vocation, that d.o.g.
Flying Cat from Colliedog Licensing Board
To be fair to Moo, there is a towel against the door to cut down on cold air seeping against the dog. Anyway, the dog would move elsewhere if uncomfortable. What I don't understand is what he is doing down there rather than being in Moo's lap

She's far too busy cooking up a storm to sit around with a collie on her lap mjc. It's better for the circulation to be up and moving about. Ask LT....
Flying Cat from cookery nook
That's no Collie Fc !! Not a Border Collie, and I know that there are other spurious types of Collies, but not like that surely. Grrrrrrr
Getoffthe from thewhitesettlerscroft
It's a greyhound of some sort. Certainly does not belong in the same canine group as CrofterBill's pup.

It could be Cross?

Zeb looks very comfortable! I love reading this blog, Michelle. Looks like the life of a farmer's wife in Scotland really suits you. Hugs from Lizzy's mom
Yvonne from Washington state
Zeb is a Borzoi (spelling??) Border Collie cross and if he sat in my lap I'd die hahahaha!!! We found him a lovely big dog basket and filled it with blankets and it now sits perfectly in "his" doorway. He's a very happy pooch!

Hello Yvonne!!!! It's alway so nice to hear from you! You are such a lovely person! GOD BLESS!!
Michellechoza from Mainland Orkney
Borzoi +border collie: some cross indeed. I guess he was not a designer dog but a happenstance. So long as he is happy, not even TWS would object to him staying around a while longer, at least on your farm. As Diggy would wish, I hope your dog has been fixed. One cross is fine, but a proliferation of the Hound of the Baskervilles in Mainland Orkney would be too much to contemplate. I have ended up so far "fixing" all my dogs: a proper and just action as Mia, Pickle and FC would doubtless comment.
mjc from NM,USA
It's the sort of thing one agrees with wholeheartedly when applied to other animals.....
Flying Cat from Cheshire Grin
The only creatures not sorted (fixed) on this farm is me, Erlend, the cows and the bulls. Everything else is incapable of procreation!!!!
