Well that's something to look forward to...
Flying Cat from Inn Anticipation
So in conclusion-how many council employees does it take to empty a wheely bin?-suggestions welcome , but I guess about 8, the driver, the handler. a few clerks, a few secretaries, junior civil servant ,supervisor...its all under control, we can increase the council tax and charge locals and tourist a fee for parking in the countryside or something else.(It takes fewer to screw in a light bulb) It is a shame that the only political strategy politicians can think up , is to tax more...a sad reflection on the brain power of our "leaders" and so on........
Jimb from Land of confusion
Seems like everybody's going to have fortnightly collections. Rats are going to have an absolute whale of a time :-(
Arnish Lighthouse from Stornoway
I'm available for a small fee! !
Pied Piper from Hamlin
"Funny how Argyll and Bute Council do not seem to appreciate the value of tourists" Perhaps if there was a tax on tourists that the council could collect they would be more appreciative! If rubbish is put in a wheelie bin how can the rats get to it ? I agree the council should do more about the overflow of rubbish but people have a responsibitity as well.
The Islay Ranter from Islay
Ranter, If you had a bag of rubbish and saw that the wheelie bin was full. What would you do? Try and stuff it in the bin, won't fit? Then just leave it at the side of it, you don't know that it may be a week or so before it is collected. Whilst I very much agree with you, we have to account for the stupid, Something the Council is not prepared to do, or cannot seem to understand. Iain Fawcett's attitude is 'they should take it home with them'. That's clever, Hey!!!!!!
Stephen from Jura Stores
its not the four legard rats you have to beware if its the ones with two legs
