Western Isles women

Maureen McKendry, a journalist from the Sunday Times, has been in touch.
She鈥檚 writing an article on the number of women moving away from the Western Isles and would like to speak to those who鈥檝e done so.

If you鈥檇 like to speak to Maureen email me at islandblogging@bbc.co.uk and I鈥檒l pass on her details.

Chrissie Mary is threatening to up sticks if she doesn't get a man at this year's fank - would Ms Mckendry be interested in the exclusive inside track? Donald is doing her PR for a bottle of Glen's Vodlka from the Swainbost shop.

Herself is always threatening to leave, I don't know why, so maybe the woman from the Times could instruct her?

Perhaps she could also find out what attracts men TO the Western Isles. I trust it won't be the absence of women.

Any relation to the McKendry from the Magic Roundabout?

Perhaps, with the proper incentive, Ms. McKendry could be persuaded to stay? What those incentives might be, I am not so bold as to suggest.

Perhaps On Top of Ward Hill's' blog can help to explain what's happening to the disappearing women. The blog at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/islandblogging/blogs/005299/0000008462.shtml has a picture of a masked man with a WAG bag. Is there a WAG-catcher - like the Kidcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - kidnapping wives and girlfriends. If so, Chrissie Mary and I applaud this initiative as it clears the field a bit for us.
