It's been a long time since I blogged. Been otherwise occupied!!! Well, we finally did it. Soljey & consort are now 1!!
'Twas a small affair. Just my family & Consort's - from Lerwick, Aberdeen, Nottinghamshire & London. Oh, & some Orkney person called Herman Ess. We had to invite him as he introduced us to each other. A fact that he's been trying to deny all responsibility for.
Prior to the wedding, Consort had decorated our house, both inside & outside - very tastefully. Everything looked wonderful.
It was a gamble deciding to get married in the evening on our balcony. But the view is spectacular from there. Right up till 5 minutes before hand we were wondering. But come 8pm the weather was brilliant. Not a cloud in the sky, just enough of a breeze to keep midges away. We were both nervous - despute it being 2nd time around for both of us.
Consort looked absolutely lovely. Radiant was the only word I could use! We both wore white (and I mean all white).
The ceremony was quite short - we had written it ourselves. Herman carried out his ring bearing duties. Both the rings, which were made to our designs by a jeweller in Orkney, looked fantastic.
A toast of Pimms, then the food arrived. The caterers from Unst did us proud. Salmon, ham, pavolva, etc, etc. Brilliant - & loads of it!!
The whole evening went off against a backdrop of a spectacular sunset which astounded our guests from London.
We'd arranged transport for people to arrive at our house, & to take them away at midnight. So no-one had to worry about drinking & driving. Leaving Consort & I to.... (well, we won't go into that!)

I recognise some of my photos on this blog. Does picture 5 come with a health warning? It certainly doesn't need doctoring to prevent identification.
