BEN:Look at my painting Radha?
RADHA:Oh that鈥檚 looking really good Ben.
BEN:That's me and that鈥檚 Chip.
RADHA:Oh who's Chip?
BEN:Oh he's my new friend from school. Do you like my painting Breagha?
BREAGHA:Umm, it's alright.
RADHA:Are you OK Breagha?
BREAGHA:Err, I feel a bit鈥 Strange. Um. Ben's been spending all day at school playing with his new friend Chip. I don鈥檛 think he wants to play with me anymore.
RADHA:Oh I see.
BREAGHA:It feels all jaggy in my tummy. It's not very nice. Oh what is this feeling?
RADHA:I think you're feeling a bit jealous. 'Sometimes when someone else is getting all the attention. 'You might feel as if you're being left out. 'Or maybe you feel like you're having to share your friend 'with someone else. 'If so, you might befeeling jealous.'
BREAGHA:Oh yes! That's just how I'm feeling about Ben and his new friend. Jealous.
RADHA:And why do you think you're feeling like that?
BREAGHA:Because I like it when Ben plays with me. So, I don鈥檛 like it when he plays with someone else.
BEN:But i'll still play with you.
BREAGHA:But you've been playing with Chip more than with me.
RADHA:Jealousy isn't a very nice feeling to have is it?
BREAGHA:No it's not.
RADHA:Have you ever felt jealous Ben?
BEN:Hmm, sometimes I feel jealous of you and Breagha?
BREAGHA:Of us? But why?
BEN:Well, sometimes when you and Radha are playing football together and she's helping you practice your kicking. I can feel jealous.
BREAGHA:Oh well鈥 You're always welcome to play with us.
RADHA:Yes of course you are Ben. So Breagha, why don鈥檛 you tell us a little bit more about what happened to make you feel jealous?
BREAGHA:Alright then, I'll tell you what happened.
BREAGHA:'I thought Ben was going to play with me at school. 'But then id saw that he'd gone off with his new friend, Chip. 'They looked like they were having so much fun together. 'And I felt very left out.' Ben鈥 Why won't you play with me?
BEN:I'm just playing with Chip.
BREAGHA:'I just felt that Ben kept playing with Chip and not me. 'Why did he keep doing that? 'Why wouldn鈥檛 he play with me instead? 'Doesn't Ben want to play with me anymore?'
RADHA:Oh Breagha, you're feeling jealous of Ben and Chip. But it's OK for Ben to have other friends isn't it?
RADHA:We can all have lots of friends and they're all special in their own way. Why don鈥檛 we ask our feelings friends to help you feel better?
BOTH:Yes please!
RADHA:Come in Isabella, come in Ashton.
ALL:Hello! Hi.
RADHA:So I know we're all special in our own way. And what I'd like to do is play a game where we list three things that are special about each other.
BEN:Oh brilliant! I love playing games. So, I've got some cards to help you with pictures on them.
RADHA:And what I'd like you to do Ben and Breagha, is pick three cards that show something special about Isabella and Ashton. And I'd like you to do the same for Ben and Breagha. There we go.
RADHA:Oh it looks like you're getting on quite well. How about you Breagha, have you found some cards?
BREAGHA:Oh yes! Ashton is good at singing. Dancing鈥 And cuddles.
RADHA:Oh lovely! That's great. How about you Ashton? What have you found?
ASHTON:Breagha is strong. Sporty鈥 And kind.
RADHA:Oh lovely! They're lovely ones.
BREAGHA:Thank you Ashton.
BEN:I've got some, I've got some! Look. Isabella is good at gymnastics. reading, and at being a great big sister.
RADHA:Aww that鈥檚 a nice one. How about you Isabella?
ISABELLA:Bens good at painting.
ISABELLA:Helpful.
RADHA:Anything else?
ISABELLA:Yes.And good at fuzzy hugs!
RADHA:Ohhh, that's a lovely hug. That was a great game. And it just shows you how special we all are. That you feelings friends for all your help.
