RADHA:So tell me all about your school fun day?
BEN:Oh we had a great time! I threw bean bags into hoops.
BREAGHA:And I got to do an obstacle course. I had to climb over and under different things. And at the end was a very big slide.
BREAGHA:Lots of my friends didn鈥檛 want to do it. I climbed all the way to the top. And just before I pushed myself down鈥 I had a funny feeling. I'm not sure what the feeling was Radha.
BREAGHA:But, I took a deep breath. And slid all the way down.
RADHA:Oh well it sounds like you were feeling very brave when you went down that big slide, Breagha.
BREAGHA:What does brave mean?
RADHA:Well let's find out.
RADHA:'When you're feeling really scared about doing something but then鈥 'You do it! 'Or you try your best not to show you're frightened.'
RADHA:'Or even if you're the only one to put your hand up. 'When no one else does. 'Then maybe you're feeling brave.'
BREAGHA:That鈥檚 it! That鈥檚 how I was feeling, brave. I wasn鈥檛 sure if I could go down the slide, it was really high. But I did it anyway.
BEN:Have you ever felt brave Radha?
RADHA:Oh yes when I was about your age I remember being in the park with my friends. They were all climbing a really high tree. When it came to my turn I didn鈥檛 want to do it. So I said no.
BEN:Oh? You didn鈥檛 do it?
RADHA:That鈥檚 right. I knew I didn鈥檛 want too. It's brave to say what you think is right and stand by it. Even if it's different from everyone else.
BREAGHA:I've never thought of that.
BEN:Can you tell us more about what you felt like on the big, big slide Breagha?
RADHA:Yes, I want to hear all abouthow you were brave.
BREAGHA:OK!
BREAGHA:'I was having a great time at the fun day. 'Especially watching Ben throw bean bags. 'He was brilliant.
BREAGHA:'Go Ben!'At the end of the day, I decided to do the obstacle course. 'Everyone had been talking about how scary and exciting it was. 'Especially the big slide.
BREAGHA:'I had to jump over and crawl under lots of obstacles. 'When I finally got to the slide 'I had butterflies in my tummy.
BREAGHA:'I was looking forward to giving it a try. 'Even though lots of my friends didn鈥檛 want to do it. 'But when I got to the top鈥 'It seemed so high up!
BREAGHA:'I thought about it for a moment. 'Took a deep breath. 'And鈥 Just did it! 'Weeeee! 'When I got to the bottom, I felt great.'
RADHA:There are lots of ways that we can feel brave. Like tackling something scary. Or doing something that you didn鈥檛 think you could do. Why don鈥檛 we ask our feelings friends to join us?
BOTH:Oh yes!
RADHA:Hello Ben and Rory! Come and join us?
BEN:Hello.
BREAGHA:Hello.
RADHA:Breagha's been feeling brave today. I want you to show me your bravest poses. So, Ben why don鈥檛 you go first?
RADHA:That鈥檚 so brave!
BEN:That鈥檚 a good one.
RADHA:And Rory, woah look at that one! How about you Ben?
BEN:Oh, OK, watch this.
RADHA:Now your turn Breagha?
BREAGHA:OK.
RADHA:That was really brave, well done everyone.
BREAGHA:Rory, Ben, can you tell us about a time you've felt brave?
BEN:I felt brave when I fell off my bike and I got up. And that I forgot about my knee.
RADHA:Oh that was very brave of you. How about you Rory? Can you remember a time when you felt brave?
RORY:-Putting my glasses on the first time.
RADHA:Oh well done! It's so brave to put your glasses on for the first time, isn't it?
BEN:And Breagha, you felt brave going down the big slide.
BREAGHA:Oh yes, you can go down it with me next year Ben?
BEN:Err no, no I don鈥檛 think so. It looked too scary for me.
RADHA:And that鈥檚 very brave of you Ben. It's OK to feel scared. And actually saying no can be really brave.
BEN:Yes it is.
RADHA:We'll see you soon Ben and Rory, thanks for all your help!
