That was Gianluca Scamacca's eighth goal for West Ham in his 28th appearance following his £30.5m move from Sassuolo in the summer.
However, it was only his second goal since scoring in a 3-1 Premier League win over Fulham in October.
The way AEK Larnaca are defending, Scamacca will be fancying his chances of improving his stats more tonight.

It was a lovely side-footed finish from the Italian but it doesn't count.

AEK Larnaca give the ball away and Pablo Fornals leads the charge forwards. He gives it to Manuel Lanzini who in turn finds Gianluca Scamacca.
He cuts back to get the ball on his right foot, the shot should be easily saved by Kenan Piric but the Larnaca keeper makes a right mess of it, it goes through him and over the line.
A horror show for the keeper, but West Ham boss David Moyes will not care about that at all.

The Brazilian cuts on to his left foot inside the penalty area but his shot bounces off an away defender and the opportunity vanishes.

That is a great ball in behind. Gabriel Martinelli runs onto it and beats the defender to get in on goal, but he is at an acute angle.
Adan makes a good save but it comes straight back to Granit Xhaka who smashes it in.
Arsenal, I will tell you what, are good for it.

It was the moment of real quick tempo from Arsenal it was so quick. Reiss Nelson was on his bike beat his man and whips the ball in.
Gabriel Jesus just can't get his foot on it and Adan is able to stand tall.

Arsenal have come to life. Reiss Nelson curls a cross between the Sporting defence and keeper and it is met by Gabriel Jesus. He is under pressure and can't make clean contact, allowing Antonio Adan to save.

Kenan Piric in the away goal produces a dodgy clearance and that gives West Ham a chance, but the visiting defenders get their keeper out of trouble, booting the ball off of Manuel Lanzini and behind for a goal kick.
