Great pics, and hope you can get some of the northern lights too. Is the Stromness street the same one as in the old photo in your earlier blog? ps I wish I lived in that house in the 2nd photo!

All this daylight - but my weekend is only 47 hours long! I feel robbed.

It alright to ooh and aaah over Dundas (that's the street name for the Stromness Champs Elysees, right?), but have your tried to drive your Humvee on it while giving the pedestrians and bicycle the right of way? Have you?!!

Aye, the lack of corners on the houses testifies to the camper van drivers trying to get through the town to the campsite (and due in part to certain young men after a few shandies, too). The narrowness of the street is certainly part of the charm - but we do get the boy racers zooming past the house, endangering the felines. Some folks think it should be one way - I say NO! It would become a racing circuit! As it is, there is always a chance they will meet something coming the other way and have to drive more slowly. I curse them regularly. However, it's still a v cool place to live. If these blogs had smell-o-vision you would detect salt, lum reek and seaweed. The sea is only yards away!

If the signage was clearer, people in campervans woudn't go through the street but up Back Road instead.
