Cold house

Stromness in ye olde days. It looks very similar to this now, except nowadays youWhen I was at primary school, the heating went off at the beginning of April and back on at the start of October, regardless of the weather or temperature. In Edinburgh we had a landlady who did the same. Luckily it's still March but the house is quite cold, especially if you sit down for any length of time. We usually light the fire in the evening, but during the daytime we save money and energy by wearing more jumpers. Sometimes I cheat a bit and go and lie in bed with the electric blanket onto write or read or list stuff on a well-known internet auction site. The cats like this.

One cat is very old and wobbly, and has arthritis in the legs. She does not, in agricultural-show-talk, have a good back end. Also she has hyperthyroidism, so she gets pills for that too. Never a great one for going out, she now has a perfect excuse for lying about all day and doing very little. The other two (the youth) are fully engaged in the complicated business of Stromness Cat Politics.

Am currently trying to set up my own website with own blog, so this is good practice!

aahhh--more moggie lovers

I'd like to say welcome to Island Blogging, But I won't, as there is way too many c*ts in this part of the blogosphere. You don't have to be a c*t lover to write a blog here. I was wondering, also, do you know, or are related to my mother-in-law, The Dragon Lady?

Welcome to Island Blogging!

I'm still trying to train myself not to say StromNESS...

Hooray, more cats!!!!!!!!

Flying Cat from Cheshire Grin

May I suggest you also list your cat on the well known internet auction site? Come to think of it, Ruthodanort might do well to consider such a course of action for her surplus quadruped. Assuming the successful bidders are from south of the border, the islanders are thereby enriched (monetarily and environment-wise). What more can a reasonable person require?

mjc from NM,USA

nice to see a dragon making an appearance, a virtual one for my collection (now if I could only get mia to use her tail as a duster on the rest of my myriad collection)

Have the flying one come and hoover (hover over?) the dust. # I wonder how I have ended up being delegated the role of thorn in cat's flesh!!

Mia & FC in the same house as my preciouses -- help, I need chocolate!

You'll need more than chocolate!

Flying Cat from sniggering on the sofa

well, if you're offering, mine's a very stiff bourbon (see mjc, some of us do do american!)

Hi folks! Thought I'd better declare my moggies from the start, but I promise I won't write about them all the time....

Stromness Dragon from The mothership in the kitchen

*sigh* Some bipeds just don't realise where their responsibilities lie...I hope you had your fingers xed when you made that promise, Dragon. Mine's a small bucket of Manzanilla. (but you can keep the chocolate)
