They got it Right this time!!!!

It's official, before we even reach 5.30 and listen in avidly to radio shetland, we know already that tomorrow is a No School Day.

Apparantly the forecast is so bad that to make ;ife easier all round the powers that be have closed the schools in advance.

I have to say on our little stretch of land with its close proximity to the sea, our roads are passable with care.

Tomorrow might be quite a different story however and we should ot question the decisions of those who know best.

Here's to a long lie!!!!

Us in the southern isles have less snow and therefore will probably complete a full working week. We are not jealous in the slightest (also the Bairns are).

We sledged in the hail today, and had to admit defeat, the bairns were miserable. they don't make them like they used to.... then our dog got run over by the tractor and we had an emergency run to Bixter Vet. Hopefully he will be ok, will find out tomorrow. Roads were described as 'passable' by Radio Shetland but they're not that bad yet! still snowing. went to visit a neighbour to collect our mail, but after we discovered it was his birthday, and there was no school tomorrow, no one cared any more...

scallowawife from shetland, land of eternal holidays....

Although it happens rarely its good to be reminded that I am sometimes wrong. In the isles of the sooth we are on our second day off. Didn't think we would be caught by the snow.
