Ooooooh goody is it a competition? Guess-the-Castle...is it Stirling?
Flying Cat from getting the ball rolling
Hi, first thought was edinburgh but now I have no idea!!
guzzisue from Nottingham, UK
that looks suspiciously like Edinburgh Castle IT ... :-) I seem to recognise the lighting around it ... Looks like it was taken from the Edinburgh Hilton, or thereabouts ...?
soaplady from flown in at midnight many times ... :-)
I was assuming it was Edinburgh which I will be waving to when I go up to Spoittal of Glenshee for a week on Sunday, but on second look it doesn't quite look right for Edinburgh. Good to see you back Frances.
Julie from Lincs
Good to know you are alright, IT? How about your investments in Icelandic banks though? # Stirling is a rather intelligent guess FC (you amaze me, at times). I am da*n sure it's not the Mandarin (or the Meridien, for that matter) on the Wall of China.
mjc from IN, USA
I'm betting Stirling too, FC.
Jill from EK
hello fc no it's not Stirling but yes a castle in Scotland I will post a bit more later and lots more over the weekend

my you have been a busy lot guessing and yes it is Edinburgh but not from the Hilton from the bus stop going west, Stirling is my fav castle as when I am coming up from the south I know when I see Stirling that the cities and the noise are behind me and the best is yet to come :o)

well I did post a post about why I had gone to Edinburgh but ib couldn't publish it as it was advertising so I changed the post to say I had posted the info to my blogger blog but ib didn't publish that either and now it is friday after six and nothing happens until monday morning so I have had enough I think I am going to go back to blogger, http://island-threads.blogspot.com

Just checked the other blog, and the gallery. The one that's been chosen for display is very attractive, and the competition (to judge by others selected) clearly was fierce. Congratulations, hearty congratulatons, IT. # Wife was over in Edinburgh for a week last month (work): too bad the exhibition was not on while she was there. I shall show her your ib photo (and link to the exhibition) and see whether she can identify it as Edinburgh Castle. After all her work group was treated to a Highland tartaned, haggised, single malted/single casked, and piped themed banquet in the Castle. It would be funny if she were to say: Stirling, simply because the photo is a nice shot, and we both like Stirling Castle.

let me guess. You were at the Mod in Falkirk and you took some time out to visit Stirling Castle.

Everyone must be busy, busy! Today is 19 October and there hasn't been a new post since 17 October. I usually read the IB while I am having my morning coffee. I am now reading old posts that posted before I found this site.
Gale from NC, USA
The Allium quilt is gorgeous! Congrats on having two quilts accepted for the exhibition. Excellent!
Conni from NJ
thanks for nice comments, mjc didn't you get to come over with your wife? I am pleased she had an enjoyable time, did she get to see the Impressionism in Scotland exhibition? I went on the second too last Saturday and it was packed, Gale IB does not post over the weekend as it is not auto but operated by really people, Conni thanks but only one of my quilts was accepted the rejected one was the Amaryllis quilt after I had done some more work on it, I have heard the exhibition has had quite a good flow of visitors which is nice,
