Lovely photos, IT, these look like illustrations from a rose catalogue! What a beautiful pink the QE one is. Your "mystery rose" is gorgeous, too.

Wow Island Threads, I can smell the beautiful perfume from here. What gorgeous roses you have. I have also learnt something, as I was trying to find out the name of the Rosa Rugosa with the egg yolk flower. There's some on Coll and they smell divine. Thank you, a lovely, lovely blog and really beautiful roses.

they're beautiful, I think you've done very well to keep them going. I think it could be an alba rose called Celeste, it reminds me of an alba we used to have called Great Maiden's Blush but that didn't have the open centre.

thanks for lovely comments, Jill the photo of the QE one was taken when I got home around 10.15 last night, it was still light but overcast and so the flash went, I had done the post yesterday only to find I didn't have a photo of QE, the LM photo was taken on a sunny day last week, it is strange I have noticed before whenever I take a photo of red flowers the green background takes on a slightly weird look, Fiona thank you I will look that up,

Nice! Roses are beautiful but they can be very high maintenance in humid climes. How is it your way, IT?

Fiona I just looked up Alba roses and thank you for bringing them to my attention, I don't think it is Celeste because the photos I found of C are very pink, my rose is a peachy pink more like this rose http://www.rosegathering.com/beautv.html I think this may not be as open as mine though, there is a good description of albas and I am interested that they come from the dog rose as I have always thought that this rose is related to the dog rose, there are similarities, mjc the wind blows the humidity away with the greenfly, blackfly and anything else that can't hang on....now I really must do some work out side,

Love all of your roses - especially the yellow one with the blush around the edges.
