In the RHS Encyclopedia the following list of possible pests&diseases of Primulas appears:- aphids; red spider mite; leafhoppers; vine weevil; slugs; viruses (very helpful I don't think!); primula brown core; and grey mould (Botrytus). Cheery ain't it? If you find out a) what it is and b) if you can replant in the same soil, fpu will be lifting and splitting Primula Veris (cowslip) and a blue version of your low-growing purple ones plus sundry yellow polyanthus and self-hybrids after flowering, if you need to replenish. Good luck!

Thanks for the pictures, Very Springey, if there is such a word.

Oooo! What lovely flowers! You have far more variety then we do on the farm at the moment. I wish I could help with the Primrose mystery but I'm clueless about plants!!

Go and see Donald William Gillies, husband of the postmistress at No 20. He's a fine gardiner whose plot has been on TV.

Thanks flying cat's fpu for info, I thought brown core sounded like a good description but I looked it up and it isn't that, so I'll try some of the others but not just now as it is another beautiful day outside I hope it lasts and I'll be working in the garden, glad you enjoyed the photos cvb, have a good weekend everyone,
