IT, I've just been to Janes tonight to pick up my portfolio of work from the 'Art for the Terrified' course ...! Most of what I did was, initially, anyhow, alien to me ... But the important thing is that I really enjoyed doing it ...!!! sometimes, I think we have to accept that a piece of art sometimes only serves for that immediate period of time in which it is composed, and afterwards, serves only to remind you of what was going on in your mind at that time, and how it felt to work through it ... Most of what I do goes into what Jane hopefully calls my 'collage box', but that's only because of my prejudices about what's 'good' and what's not ... But I've certainly learned how to use PVA and tissue paper, and the concept of layering, and mark-making, lino-prints, and negative space ... also that a cut edge is not always good, and that a torn edge can be far better ...!!

That sounds like a very good précis of what sounds like a helpful and inspiring course Soaplady.

thanks SL, I understand what you are saying but my situation is different, I have an idea and have ideas as to how I want to work through it so when Jane told me to paint the papers I thought she had an idea of how to incorporate them into my idea but she didn't, I discussed this with her so she knows how I feel, I'm going next week and will take the landscape things I have been doing and work through my other idea at home,
