challenge for 2008

I enjoyed reading blogs that were participating in (take a stitch Tuesday) challenge this year but knew I would not have time every week also I did loads of stitch samplers when I did the City and Guilds Embroidery all those years ago, when reading my blogging friend , I saw that for next year Sharon has planned a monthly challenge to and you can choose your format, I missed not doing journal quilts this year so I am joining Sharonb鈥檚 challenge and it will be the base for my monthly journal quilt, if you want to join the more the merrier as they say follow the link, take a tour of anyway lots of good stuff there,

I think im going to opt for journal quilts too, but like last year, I'll just work away at it myself without joining the blog ring. Now if only my roll of cotton batting would hurry up and arrive I might actually get some quilting done before the new year ! Angela

I saw on one of your blog posts you were going to do journals and was going to ask if you'd like to do a sort of islands journal project but then I noticed you were going to do one a week, I can't manage that, I like being part of a group to see how others develope an idea and for critics on my own work, it helps with the isolation of being on an island, most quilters here are traditional and I have been critised due to my stitching etc, which is not my prime interest, what I like about this one of Sharon's is you choose your medium (textiles or paper) and you choose format (journal, postcard or larger) it will be interesting seeing the diferent formats and materials all coming from the same starting point,

Islander journals sounds a fantastic idea ! We could do it a monthly just between the two of us & opt for what ever medium our idea needs to be in. Should be pretty fun !! I'm afraid im no hard core traditional quilter either, i leave that to my mother, i prefer to opt for working very differently. Angela

Frances, thanks for your comment on my blog (and link). Of course, now that Sharon has closed the TIF group, I regret not having signed up - but I am very much looking forward to seeing your journal quilts.

oh good Angela I'm pleased you like the idea, one a month I can commit to, I have no plan in mind, we can develope it as we go along, Frances,

Conni what a shame, do you think Sharon might make an exception as you did tast and this is afteral a follow on, ofcourse you could do them anyway as people doing them will be reading your blog, it is not like a list you can't join, blogs are there for all to see,

Yes, I will probably just follow along on my own as best I can... I kind of struggled to keep up with last year's challenge...
