Sunny Friday morning

I went to Back today and as the sun was out while I waited for the Tolsta bus I took a few photos,
view across to Point, (the foreground is dark because it is on the shady side)

this gorgeous hydrangea in a garden, I just love the colours the flowers and leaves are turning,

don’t let the sun fool you this was underfoot,

I was so busy enjoying the sunny walk along the Back road I nearly missed the bus but my guardian angel was keeping an eye out for me and made me turn around to see if it was coming just before it reached me and the driver stopped, don’t you just love the way you can ‘hail’ a bus in rural areas,

the morning was the ‘calm’ after the winds of Thursday and by the afternoon the wind had come up again, they say it will be a windy weekend,

We were taught - by one of the few 'Art' teachers at school who actually taught anything instead of wafting about, that if you want to bring any part of a picture forward, make it darker, and for the distance, make it paler, because in nature, that is what a landscape usually does.

What a fascinating place, I'd love to have that much horizon in front of me sometimes. But wind can be difficult sometimes, I imagine? Have a good week Andrea

I have been told/read that you have strongest contrast in the foreground and less contrast in the distance but this was different as the sun was very bright and the best views were towards the sun so I was on the shady side of the things closest to me, the view with the sun behind me were the houses hence the full sun on the hydrangea, in the photos the sun is on the right,
